That makes the sand sprite smaller correct?

What does it look like on the beach? I think the beach sand sprite is spot on, does it make it smaller?

It makes it a little bit smaller. But a whole lot better and realistic!

can't change the color. Its hard coded. So all the sand looks the same color as before.

05-11-2003, 07:51 PM
Oh, well, I guess its just the screenshot. It looks a different color than mine in game. Oh well..

Man it would be cool to have multi-colored sand FX for fun. Like you could change them out when you want to.

I already changed my Brit grenade W model to the bunny , and it is good.

Nice sand effect man! I am using it for sure.

Just tried it out, awesome job on it. I always thought your work in 3.1 was quite good, you caught on very fast for someone who had just entered into the customization community. This is definately a cool little sprite, regardless how small the athestics is. I'm still trying to rationalize that it's realisitic though...can anyone help me? Way I figure it, if a bullet hits a sandbag, seeing as a sandbag can stop most conventional bullets, that sand isn't gonna move much since it's compacted. Therefore, there actually isn't a lot of sand that gets kicked out of it, therefore these sprites are dead on compared to the default. Plus they're not quite as grainy. (still thing the defaults rocked though) But I'm wondering if the simulated sand is accurate, as in if it should really be grainy, or more refined as shown in this sprite. I know I'm being anal, but that's how I was all through 2.1 and up about adding in custom stuff! It's gotta make sense... Of course, to end the arguement someone can just do me the favor of dragging a sack of sand outside and shooting it with a rifle and taping it for us all. :p Wish I could to dispell my thoughts...

these are great, now get to work on some grass, dirt, snow, and whatever other impact sprites there are. I think they all could stand to be improved like this.

Well I already said my bit... *sneaks an apple anyways* :D And I still have Free Kitten's Smoke puffs from 3.1, those things rocked. Had mine customized. Maybe I should try them out in game one day.... Overall, love the sprite Cs42886, a set for the rest of the debris would be nice...

After taking all of your ideas into consideration, I have decided that the next sprite project I will undertake, will be making all the old particle effect sprites a whole lot better.

05-13-2003, 04:20 AM
Go to http://cs42886.tripod.com/ for all my custom blood, muzzle flash, crosshair, and explosion sprites

can those sprites be used with 1.0?

They look great man can't wait to try them out in game. I rarely have time for Dod anymore.
