Hooray for Valve they have ruined Half-life.

The only reason i still play HL is because of custom content. I love custom models skins sounds and now i can't use them because of people who complain that its cheating :/

Same for TFC. Only reason I play is because I can make the game feel brand new with custom content. Now it is bland and old again.

Valve still has yet to say on if this is a bug or a perm thing.

I can't find any where if this custom lock was intentional or some odd bug that occured from a fix of something else. Valve has yet to say in a release note that they want custom stuff locked.

I was wondering why my 3.1 models stopped working! I truly miss the streamlined models of 3.1 and completely hate the Q3 style bloating of the new weapon models, way to screw up a good thing!

I've not tried this yet, so I don't know 100% if it works or not. I also found it on a TFC site. So, in the explination, I imagine of you just mentaly replace TFC with DoD, that it'll work. However, what I have no clue on is if it'll work for multiple games ( for those who like to play DoD as well as TFC or CS )

On with the fix:
From C-TFC's Main Page
Ok how to do it and what you need.

GCF Scape:
http://countermap.counter-strike.net/Nemesis/index.php?p=25

Half-Life Steam Installed

Ok now with GCF Scape open the TFC GCF File.
Now extract EVERY file into your half-life steam folder (in my case: C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\ooppee@hotmail.com\half-life)

You should now notice that you have a TFC folder in there now and it should of extracted a "reslists" also. Now copy that folder to your TFC folder too (leave it in the half-life folder too). Also copy all the files within it to the TFC folder (yeah I know only one of these would be needed but I am too lazy to find out which one).

Now here comes the part valve tried to screw us over on. Team Fortress Classic will not appear in Third Party games, so how to fix this. Create a desktop shortcut to a thirdparty game. Now right click that icon and where it says game=whatever chance it to game=tfc

Now join a game with your custom models, configs ect and enjoy.

Hope this help. If I had more time to game I'd try it, but I'm in the midst of a family emergancy. =/

From steampowered.com:

Update: In order to expedite the fix for crashing caused by custom content, Steam is temporarily ignoring custom game content. The use of custom content will be re-enabled as soon as possible.

Believe me I will have nightmares tonight about seeing that blood sprite.
