Trying to track down the mapper of DoD_Rouen.
He was planning to convert the map to DoD v1.0+ but has since disappeared...
No luck with this e-mail: dawe1(AT)optusnet.com.au
Looking to see if he plans to continue work on updating DoD_Rouen or turn over the files to another mapper to update it.
FuzzDad has volunteered (hehe, although that was after consuming a nice bottle of Merlot, so he may have come to his senses by now!)
Any leads appreciated. Thanks!
rouen was such and awsome map i didnt get to play it in pub much but its compact yet has many routes sorta like avalanche, hell id be playing it 24/7 if it were updated.

I do remember that Shane tracked him down before and this sounded like a done deal. I hope it didn't fall off the face of the Earth.:(

G'day All,
Firstly, let me introduce myself. I am Spider, the mapper of dod_rouen, the guy you’re looking for. I changed my e-mail a while back, 100+ spam a day was getting a bit too much, but I didn't mean to disappear.
It's probably been more than a year since I last sat down and did some serious mapping and I know I have promised to release rouen for 1.0 multiple times but I just don't have as much spare time as I used to (been busy with work and all) but I have still been working on rouen in dribs and drabs and it has always been in the back of my mind.
But after reading this thread, I think it's time I pulled my finger out and finished the map off. Structurally it’s almost complete; I just gotta fix up the entities and make sure all works well in 1.0. Might consider re-texturing as well. So it shouldn't take me too long, just all depends on debugging (fixing leaks is oh so joyous ) and a few other new things I gotta figure out such as the overhead map and the resource file or whatever.
Thankyou all for the suport you have given me over the years, it really makes mapping all worth while. I won't disapoint you again, dod_rouen will be updated.

Nice, rouen was my favorite custom map from the beta days. Can't wait to play it in retail.

Can you hear that roar? It's the whole DoD Community rejoicing!
Great News, Spider!
And as Shane said, stop by COJ if you need any help (with testing or map-building or further encouragement :D )
Thanks all for helping in tracking down the elusive Australian Spider!

Well, Spider has re-worked dod_Rouen and it is undergoing playtest -- it's looking very good, a few r-speed issues to resolve, but lovers of this classic will not be disappointed....

I playtested a version of rouen the other night. Ive never played the original, but this one was off the chain. I was very impressed. Very immersive.
