Ok im about to cry about 8 hours down the drain. I was working on my map and saved it as a .map to compile but completely forgot to save it as a .rmf

now i know hammer opens .maps but when i go to open mine everything is blank just as if i started a new prokect..

how can I salvage my map

EDIT: tried saving as a rmf anyways and then re-opened it (3.4 and 3.5) and all that shows up is a tiny square brush in the very center.

So yes please help me... im going to go crazy...

Replace the corrupt .map file with the backup-copy that you have.

You did remember to make backups?

Instacrome is just suggesting that you should have made a back up of your .map file, thats all.

The .pts is not a back up file.

Open the .map file in a txt editor and check it, I know one or two of the MardyMouse peeps have had simular problems to this and it was the path name of the textrures causing problems.

Glad I could help.

I belive the problem is when you use your Steam folder as the path, if it has the e-mail addy in the path it screws up.

Something to note if you have this problem again.
