Thanks a lot for posting the reference file, i know how hard it was to add 50kb to the zip file.

Why do you even bother opening WIP threads ?
to reply "no it won't be changed" and to hear OMG SPLINTER SEX!111 have my kids !?

The most simple request of all...

you don't want something that's just fine, but goddamit... can't you even reply to your own threads? why do i even waste my time on writing ?

Splinter

Is it really that hard to open it up in HLMV decompile it and reorigin it?

really tell me how much time it takes to press the "decompile" button.

Why do you even bother opening WIP threads

Uh, maybe because i want some feedback before a release?
Yes i do agree that i dont reply in WIP threads, but i do take them in consideration and move towards what the people want done to the "Skin", not model, not animations, but the "Skin" only.
I did notice your little request, but i feel that its something thats not needed for the rest of the public. You can contact me through AIM to get what your looking for ( I don't know any other methods of contacting me atm) but I'am not including one single unnecessary file for one person.

Sorry Mortar.

Jeez Splinter don't be such a :kitty: not all of us can afford HLMV to decompile models you *******.

Oh wait, it's free.

Only thing I don't like is on the P and W models, there is no open slit in the cooling jacket to allow the barrel to be removed, as there should be, lol. But its a small thing I guess.

And the bullets/bullet chain isn't the same one as the v model. It's lower poly, but meh, I still use it.

And this is an awesome skin btw.

Apparently, Ls3's legacy has been... Forgotten.

Same origins? Is it just me or is the origin way too much pushed forward, so you see the end of the bulletchain? :P
According to Trp. Jeds HLMV, you have to reduce the Y-axis of the origin by 8 and increase the Z-axis by 2, to make it look like the original origin.

Wow, very nice work indeed. The origins did look a little odd to me when I saw the first version, but I have since come to love them. Can't wait to see more stuff from ya!

very nice work!
I would like to suggest this:
1) make the mg closer to the player, since the arms look strange(strechted)
2) the gunner doesnt hold the bullets chain... check for some ww2 pictures. They keep the gun still in their shoulders holding the rear*. Although, its cool and you should make 2 versions-> holding and not holdiing the chain!
3) I think the barrel case should have some thickness. Its too thin-> its a plane!

*im not native american, so i dont know the right word... sorry ;)

Since I'm a big fan of Splinter's work, everytime he releases a high res v_ model, I make matching p & w models using the same skin (for my own personal use). If you guys want, I can zip them up and release.

Unless I'm mistaken, Splinter only did the texture for this mg42, so, if you're not happy with anything else, it's easy enough to change it yourself.

1) He wont, hes too lazy. but im sure some1 will re-origin it sooner or later

2) Eh, doesnt bother me, but another version could work

3)u might have something there.

Soo, what's the difference from v1? I'm too lazy to find the WIP.

Splinter

added a little scratch on the bottom which u cant see. That's all, no big difference between 1 and 2.

Arg! Recompiled it with new origins, and now the transparencies are gone.

select the model with jeds model viewer, select the texture u want transparent, and click the transparent box. Then save model.

Some good origins are 33, 33, 33.

thats totally :vader::vader::vader::vader:ed up Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that exactly what the loader would do? You see, it helps to prevent feed problems.

Ok after this lets let this thread die. Neg comments should be encoureged as long as they dont turn out flames or turn threads into flame wars. Ok I think we can let this die and move onto splinters next release thread.
