A community mapping/mappers resource

hey guys,
perhaps as some of you have seen a few of us have decided to start a community project and create a website that ultimately deals with ever aspect of mapping, meaning we would keep up to date with the latest mapping files -maps -wads -models ect ect ect and also create and insano tutorials database, so essentially this would be a one stop shop for mappers be an entire resource center for everything mapping.

hopefully we can kick off this project very shortly, and with the unity of this community we can get somewhere with it, I myself will be providing the webspace + bandwidth + doing things all round on the site but we need more help,

currently we have TheNomad and sly assasin who have jumped on board this project, we need more people to help make this a more productive team so that being said i would like to call for volunteers basic things we will be covering is

-Files (maps,wads,sounds,models,utilities ect ect)
-Tutorials (mapping tutorials)
-News (general news about all things mapping and dod)
-Webdesigner, were probably going to need someone who can knock up a functional php site - nothing flash

if you think you can help us with any of these please do so as I think in the end it will be beneficial to mappers, we dont currently have one definitive resource for mapping you have to goto 5 different sites to get what your looking for - if all goes to plan we can roll this all into 1.

please if you can help in any way beit big or small contact me
email - Travis*at*expesports.com
msn - TravisChristie@hotmail.com
irc - #EXP on irc.enterthegame.com

thanks,

I have been mapping for a few years now, and just started with dod not too long ago and have found the lack of tutorials explaining dod entities very frustrating. I would love to find a site that provides tutorials explaining them in an orderly fashion. Good luck.

How about you start by writing detailed descriptions about dod entities and how to properly set them up. That imo should be numero uno on the list of things to do considering verc's descriptions are about as generic as you can get.

Thank you so much for posting that link haircut, funny thing is I am good at searching google for answers to problems and believe it or not I have not found one site that explained how to setup dod entities for a particular map type. Now I can get back to work on my map :) Thx again :sheep:

My intention has always been the Newbie mapper, sandbag ents, flag / area capping etc ... all the questions that pop up all the time.

If mappers need more advanced details I always point them to this forum.
