Inital "hold" period for Brits increased to 30 seconds
Brit respawn redesigned
Brits spawn less faster than they used to, but still a bit faster than Germans

mno.. it looks very good, i like the visuals of this map.. but for some reason it reminds me too much of a cs map (cs_italy comes to mind) with small streets and buildings everywhere where you can hide in/behind etc

@Kraut-Killer, I recommend you try it. It actually works quite well as a brit map because the brits are assaulting making their lack of an MG not really a problem (stolen MG-42s are quite helpful though)

@Star Wars Kid: I will try it out. I usually try every map i get my hands on.

But i still have bad feelings about it. Not that i don't like the brits in DoD, but i think that a map with brits make the map much slower and frustrating, due to the 98k vs Enfield.

But i don't want to turn this thread into a brits vs US thread, so i will just wait and hope.

Not an issue. While there are some longish streets I've never found myself "caught" in the open and theres plenty of cover so long range sniping fests dont really happen.

However, I would suggest that you include a CFG file with some sensible limits already set in it to compensate for slack-jawed admins who leave everything as default.

BTW, not sure about the 30 second wait for the brits to go - it seems your waiting for every already without another delay. Any other way of doing it?

@ Kraut-Killer: As SWK said, the lack of the Brit MG has no effect, the action keeps moving due to the slopes which make you really go forwards, once you start going forward for the attack with some friends, you forget about the weapons and get focused.

@ Jed: This is only the inital waiting period at the round start, I found more often than not with new players or even people connecting after 20 seconds they had no idea they were supposed to be going, the extra 10 seconds gives the Axis that bit extra to set up. But once they loose their setup positions it generally goes British. I have added a .cfg too.

@ Silverghost: The 90 degree turns are to save it from being total kar/enfield ownage and a lag fest. It also helps keep the FPS up and with the new textures, doesnt look so obvious when your playing.

that pic shows a huge pile of rubble on the left side with no point of origin. I find it to be a continuity problem.

Other than that your map is looking good and looking forward to the new release.

Its artistic licence, go look in every Official map and you will find rubble with no source. Especially Kraftstoff.

Map looks really great :).
Some textures (on 1st pic) are too south-european/italian.
On 2nd pic lower windows are huge, upper - very small.

Its the yellowish light that gives this feeling,I can assure you that I based the texturing work on pictures from Britanny.

btw feel free to use Arch's texture as theyre not used in this map anymore.

About the rubble that comes from nowhere I agree that it looks weird but well,Its all polycount related..
Im trying to mind-control Ginger Lord to make him add details and stuff to hide behind ;]

They will be fixed once I get a small playtest done on CoJ to see if any bugs have worked their way in. Im not waiting 4 hours compiling to fix a few textures to have to recompile to fix some bugs.

The problem is that the Kustom Kettle only plays custom maps. Therefore when a really good map goes official it is kind of sad. The same thing happened with Falaise, Northbound and Saints. Falaise was especially missed.
