It looks great for a replacement wad, but I don't think it really fits the Italian architecture of the map.

To be honest, it looks bad. The textures dont fit the architecture, the textures dont match with one another, and the lighting is completly different form the sky.

Good try though.

From an artistic point of view it looks to flat and set. ive checked it out and it seems that each building has a set thing for it.

Like say for example the wood building right outside the allies spawn it just looks like a bunch of horizontal lines, with 3 windows all over top of a single door, it just doesnt look right.

take a look at some pictures of destroyed wooden buildings there splintered wood and some of it might be burned stuff like that.

So if you were to add some DETAILs like burned edges and try to keep a consistant theame, when your doing the interior look at some old photos and figure out what colors and deesigns of wallpapers you would want to have in your house.

Stuff like that, cause then you could have a winner :)

I still like your sig, AFD.

But I think that would require editting the map itself, to add charred markings [I'm tired, I forget what they're called; not sprites, but... things... markings added over textures, like the bloody hands in default HL], or change the modelling of the map and such. Even a change to the lighting would be really sweet [daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaark]. But that's a lot of work, especially when learning to do all that the first time.

Could signal the start of great things, though.

its ok, im not using it because i think the textures clash, but thats my own opinion :p.

the default is soo well blended i cant let go

no when i ment add burned edges thats just like darkening the edges the are aleready there it would look the same just with some blacks and greys on it :) sig hehehe...

But yea if it just had some more details like even torn wall paper and burned edges of buildings it would add alot.

And you seen all that where on the default avalanche? I agree more "war-torn" details would help, but this wad is better than the orange and yellow sherbet colors from before. It looked like you were running through candyland. This is only the first version. For you new guys that dont know me, I dont make "historicaly accurate" material, I just try and make it fun. Thats my style. Hate it for you.

looks nice ez, i would use it if some of them werent so dark (cant see people as well) but i may consider using it.

anyways, i do like it and it makes for a nice change.

lol, the textures make it so easy to look in those windows (dark room, etc.)

I installed it, it's actually pretty cool to be honest. I know people are so used to Avalanche, it seems alittle odd. To me the map seems brighter not darker and it has a feel where the fighting is just beginning, not a battle that has been fighting for days. Imo good job ez, can't wait for your next project.:sheep: :sheep:
