hi there...i remember once seeing a site that had all the units that mappers needed to keep in mind while mapping, but i cant find it now. only one i really remember is player height, which (i think) is 72. if i recall correctly, though, the last big update they dropped the player viewpoint down.

in short, i would like to know ideal hammer units for things like stairs, mg deploys, windows, doors, etc. so if someone could post a link to a site with that info on it, it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks a lot.

Dont have any site but someone else might, the max a player can step over is 16, or maybe its 18.

1 mapping unit is approximately 1 inch. I believe that the max step is 16 units but then again I'm not a mapper...

Good infos, assuming the dod coders didn't change the default values :) If you could confirm, thanks in advance :)

I think it is in the upper chest or neck but that is just a guess.

Here's the full article http://collective.valve-erc.com/index.php?doc=1015286457-70421400

One minor correction PeeZwee they say 73 units for standing gordon not 72 thanks for this thread though :)

MG deploy can be found by trial and error, 48 sounds good. I wish we could deploy while crouching.

I used to use 48 for deployable areas but now use 40-44 since they lowered the viewpoint.
