Does anyone know of some sites that would have good referenceces, of building design ect from the 1940's era?

Many buildings from this era are still present now in Germany, France, Mid/Eastern Europe, so you can use modern pics, this way you will get color versions. Old color photos from WW2 era are very rare. For modern photos I use http://community.webshots.com (Travel/Europe), but it require some searching.
