If someone could modifiy the draw.smd from both the kar98 and the luger default models, so that the animations dont play and the gun just appears in its normal position (like HLTV, if youve seen one).

mail me at sharpshooter0@hotmail.com if you decide to do it :)

you should have it slowly fade in, or like, this big fire pops out and when it goes away your gun is there.

:carrot: haha, or his hands raise, then he wiggles his fingers (abricadabra.wav is played) and the gun appears.

im guessing its for pistol switching when sniping/kar'ing. but i aint complaining

well it sort of worked and it sort of didnt, Im not sure if its a problem with the way im compiling the model or whatever, but when I did it

1. It made a very annoying ringing noise while switching
2. The model jutted out from the character once the animation (that wasnt being played) was finished. Its like the model was being rendered too far ahed of the player, I could see the extra ammo clips and everything, looked VERY strange.

If the models that you made worked, could you email them to me?
Or possibly PM on mIRC or AIM?

Oh, I also have some webspace you can upload them to if youd prefer

Thats because you decompiled the model with Milkshape, it f*cks up the origins. I suggest decompiling it with Jed's HLMV.

And the weapon switch sound plays whenever you draw the weapon. You need to take the wav. that plays it out of the Draw animation in the QC.

K, here are the 2, I added a few more frames, tested the Luger, but not the Kar... I think the sound for the draw was lasting longer than the animations, so that was the clicking sounds
(After I fixed the frames, i realized I could have just removed the play sound from the QC, but...:kitty: :dog: )

So try this again, and don't use milkshape (I like milkshape if I am not compiling and need error messages, but other than that it is safer to use Jed's or just the straight HL compiler. )

Thanks a lot, looks really sweet. I have no problem editing QC files, but was the editing of the SMD easy to do (i mean the editing you did the first time around, because I think I could get it to work from there). I'd like to know so I could do it for other models :D

I got mine working too. And now I want it for all models, from nades to spades. I really like the HLTV feeling.

Open it in a TXT editor
Erase everything from "time 0" to the last "time ##"
(MAKE SURE YOU KEEP ALL THE PLOT POINTS FOR THE LAST "time")

This will give you the last frame (Usualy the first frame of idle.smd)
Then if you wanted to fix the sound, copy/paste those lines and change 0 to what ever number comes next (1, 2, ...54)

Well, I've almost edited the switching animation out of all models, expect with British weapons. I can upload them on some site if someone wants them.

EDIT: Nvm, I uploaded the models which are already done. There's k98, garand, luger, colt, spade, amerknife, stick, nade, bar, mp44, spring and scopedk98.

http://koti.mbnet.fi/mfs9/models_.rar

I'll do the rest later.
