Here are some pics of the map I've been working on. It's my first map so I'm learning as I go. Please see my other thread concerning compiling problems if you think you can help.

You might want to change the pictures to .jpg's instead of .bmp's.
Also, before the might and wrath of the dodforum mappers comes upon you, I suggest ONLY showing compiled pictures of a map.
Kami said it best a while back. It was something to the effect of "Real mappers make maps, that means compiling, testing, etc. Otherwise your just making bulidings.
Anywho, it looks pretty good for a first map, better than my first one ever looked. Just compile it and then you can begin to recieve more constructive critisicm instead of the flames i'm sure you're to recieve in the near future.
He said he is having compiling issues.
Looks promising for a first map.

Updated pictures of compiled map. I haven't played with the lighting much. I'm going for a just before dusk setting. Any suggestions on the entity setting to achieve this?

on topic of the lighting, Mother of God! :( hehe
-fix the lighting
-fix the roofs. look at other maps to see how its done
-more rubble. try the models
-new sidewalk texture
-new hedge/treeline texture

Neutrino - What exactly do you mean when you say 'fix the roofs'. Also I haven't messed with the lighting very much - that's why I asked for help with how to achieve what I'm after.

looking good so far mate for your first map, better then mine first one ever was ;)
One thing I will mention that might be helpful:
Your windows look huge with a capital H, 60h by 40ish w is a good height/width for windows, other then that things are looking great :) keep up the good work and can't wait to see a beta release sometime :)

The second to last shot seems reminicent of dod_escape. Overall, from the screens I think you've done a good job of creating a very urban combat feel to the map, though perhaps it's lacking some battle damage. Good job, I'd play it.
