Looks a bit plain IMO. More bombed buildings and rubble etc. A few bombed out cars and/or tanks would make sense too. Also random mortar or air strikes raining down on the streets would be cool too.

Yes, its a rough build atm, there will be rubble and other stuff, after i get the layout completed.

Hopefully it doesnt look completely like flash, i hope the layout will look different, its a great i dea to make a map in the country but if the roads twist and turn like the roads in flash then u got yourself a copy, take no offense, and u did say it was like flash.

Ha my bad i apologize, i acidently hit n't on did by mistake, i tell you the truth i did read his post but i typed didn't instead of did, funny how one word screws the whole messeage up.

Anyway what i mean was, no one dislikes another flash type map, just a map with the same layout, by layout, i mean the roads go in the same direction as flash roads did, and all the buildings in the same place.

Im not telling you to stop working on the map, so keep working on it all u want.

This map is to flash as switch is to avalanche.

The layout is completly diff.

small update, though not much of a change as i deleted the original rmf had to remake a good amount of this, added a couple trees, some hay in the bottom of the building, and some rubble, also aligned some of the textures a bit better then b4.



Still not happy with the lighting, trying to find a good look might try a diff night sky.

Make the lighting the way you want it...remember that despite those in here who might prefer the darker look...very few people in the general and custom world prefer really dark maps. If you like it dark and don't care too much about numbers go for it...dark maps can look great if done right.

PS. I liked the first screens on page 1 the best. Looks very promising...good texture usage.

PPS. You guys might not like the new "blue" lighting on Flugplatz but I've got a solid 15-20% increase in servers and players since I made the change. Since there were few outward brush changes I have to give credit to the lighter environmental for the increase.

FuzzDad? Can you please give Flugplatz the same sky and lighting as Para_Raiders? Looks much better. Plus, i played a map dod_flugplatz_day, which just lit the lighting a tich more and changed the sky to the one used in caen. it filled the server within minutes! It allowed you to see the beauty of the map and things stuck out before that I rarely recognized before. Just seemed more fun to play in, and I think thats why the server filled up as fast as it did.

Not realy going for the destroyed town look as far as buildings are concerned, its been done, im going for more of a "the war just got here look" Though there is a few mortar spots ive been working on, chicken huts il be adding shortly.

Again some changes to existing stuff, sidewalk is now a little lower, and a couple of new buildings i did the other day but didnt post.


Was working on some newer stuff this morning but while i was doing it the power went out so i gota redo it all =( should be back on track by tonight though, il post some new pics in a day or two.

[UPDATE] 9/2/04

After running through the map the other day with Thursday it became apparent that alot of the buildings were a bit large in comparison to the player models so i went and scaled them down a bit thx for the help thurs il be needing ya again in a day or so =)

Heres some pics of the updated stuff, dont plan on adding sanbags in this map as the war just got here, though "most" waist high objects will be deployable with your mg be it a wall, a barrel, a window, the back side of some steps, or even a fence, thx Crisp for helping me get these pics.

Still need to scale down the fences a bit, forgot about those =P

Some of the textures in the screen below will change, im curently waiting on watchtower to finish them up =)

The eta on this thing keeps changing as i keep finding things to perfect, so im not gona give any more eta's until its actualy done, im curently working on redoing a building that is not in these screens gona turn it into a barber shop, gona try to get all buldings/homes furnished to an extent, im trying to go for a semi realistic environment here =)

Actualy im changing the bar sign as crisp gave me the idea for the bar i told him id put his name there =P thats one of the textures im waiting on from watchtower, but dont worry il be using several of your textures in the map =)

in this pic, at the bottom, the hole in the ground is way wrong. these are stones on the ground, not solid concrete. I would get rid of the hole all together.

Yeah i removed that, you can see in one of the newer pics, im working on a better crater for another location though.
