Staff Sgt is now 2nd Lieutenant
Master Sgt is now Sergeant
Sgt is now Technician (Corporal for para's)
Sniper is now Sharpshooter
Support Infantry is now BAR Man
Bazooka is now Bazooka Man

Grenadier is Schutze
Stosstruppe is Oberschutze
Unteroffizier is Feldwebel
Sturmtruppe is Oberfeldwebel
No change on sniper
No change on MG's or Panzerschreck

Para-Grenadier is now Flieger
Para-Stoss is now Jäger
Para-Uffz is now Oberjäger
Para-Sturmtruppe is now Feldwebel
FG42-Zweiben is now Oberfeldwebel

Brit Rifleman is now Private
Sergeant Major is now Lieutenant

Allies are now Americans
Axis are now Germans
Spectators are now Observers

Uploaded: fixed problem on normal maps where when you select Technician it'll say "You will respawn as Corporal"

Added Leftenant in place of Lieutenant.

I got it and made some further changes myself, adding the Allied classes as rank except the sniper and changing mortar to Mortar Crewman

I love this. :D There is one problem, though. Above the weapon image, it says "(Insert Class Name Here) Weaponry." This still retains the default Day of Defeat Class names.

Technician is a rank. And I don't know about WWII, but nowadays the Canadians spell Lt as "Lieutenant", although it is pronounced "Leftenent".

The Greasegun was issued commonly to technicians, crews, etc, so I used that. But one of the best things is you can still change it =\


The part where it still says their names in places - That's the image I believe, I don't use the default stuff for that, I prefer the pack jed did for all of the selection screen and text things. It's on his site www.wunderboy.org

I know it's not part of the image (I've changed the images myself). The text is determined in the dod_english.txt. The tag is "wpnry_(weapon name)," and it is listed after the "cls_(weapon name)" tags.

The man who carried the BAR was indeed called the "BAR Man" He was usually the biggest, strongest motherf'er in the Squad.

Yeah, if you look in dod_english, clos to the bottom you'll see all the descriptions, not sure if jsut changing that works, I haven't tried yet.

basically its a site of ranks used during ww2 and like their equivalent to other countries like a sergeant is a sergeant in u.s., england, and a blah blah in germany, blah blah if he's in the S.S.....oh whatever just look at it

Here are some more, based off Handy's

Tommy guy is now Captain
Carbine guy is Sergeant
Bar is Lance Corporal
Bren is Corporal
Greasegun is now Corporal (for the Americans).
And plus it now says stuff like "Private's Weaponry" instead of "Rifleman's weaponry" and the same goes for the rest of them.

On anzio, if your axis, and you wander into the allied spawn, it will say "you have gone into the Allied landing zone" or something like that.

When someone joins the server it says "soandso has volunteered to fight!"
When someone disconnects/leaves the server, it says "soandso has surrendered!"

If someone has been kicked it will say "soandso has been dishonorably discharged!"

for the reason it will say "you have been dishonorably discharged for treason!"

oh and its weird like, when ppl join it doesnt show their name it shows like %/@ joined %/@ you know stuff like that. did i put something in th wrong place?

Something I would like to see is a return to the non-rank names, like Rifleman, BAR Gunner, etc.

Well really it's pretty easy, I mean just go inside the quotes and edit the text. Don't delete anything important looking, etc. I don't have any experience, I was just bored one night, heh.

I can send the default dod_english if anyone wants to edit it.
