Working on a new .WaD....

Hey guys, sorry not a preview just yet, BUT

Im currently working on a new .Wad for Day of Defeat and Im wanting to gather input from mappers as to what exactly you think is missing and what you would like to see more of texture wise.

example: Joe Mapper sayz: I need more stucco textures, like this: (posts example picture)

Ill keep in mind your thoughts during this process.

I seem to be getting multiple requests for grasses and blends between dirt, sand, rocks, etc.

Yes! blends are nice - also maker craters for them - Also a new water tex (from scratch) with a shoreline would be nice ...

Perhaps a treeline or two as well ... :)

Need more factory and industrial textures. Kinda like flugplatz, but not so much of a light red brick, maybe darker brown brick. With that it mind, have some of these textures with industrial windows, or doors and such.

I'd like to see some watch tower textures, some nice wooden ones and also some concrete ones like in dod_enemy

I've also done some reedits on some of the textures from flugplatz myself, but we do need more textures of those sort so that we can make more factory/industrial maps.

Also some textures for being used in underground bunker systems aswell. I'd kill for specific textures like that at the moment for something I'm making ;)

i'd like to see more "desert/island" textures too like BF1942, so maybe these can be used for more maps like el alamein and other north african maps

better grass,gravel,rubble,wood, ground textures in general! also like need big building textures :P the kind you would have to split into like 4 textures!

a can of coke and a kit kat too, while your at it

Oh some cliff and rock textures would be great aswell :) sort of like the ones in the forest .wad but different ;)

there is one thing that always annoys me, there's a huge amoun of good looking textures out there, but there isnt an other texture you also need if u want to use that first texture. f.e.: when you have a brick wall with windows in it, you also need a texture of that same brick wall without the windows for an other side of the building. in other words, when you've made a good looking texture, think how its gona be used and what else might be usefull for it.

some thing id like to see:
- sidewalks
- street and store signs
- and finaly textures for stuff inside buildings, bookcase, furnature, paintings etc

good luck to the wad, new textures are always usefull

- City sidewalks are definitely needed
- Paintings - don't bother - There are tons of them in many wads, and for furniture better use models.

I allways seem to need a nice roof texture, most i find is either
to clean bright or used on so many maps that is it boring to look at.
