C 47 jump off

is it possible fore player to jump of a c 47 that would be cool for paratrooper maps and the soliders could be scatterd all aound the landing zone

The halflife engine has a lot of problems with vehicles. It's already hard enough with one person on a scooter to keep from getting stuck or killed because they went up a hill. I can't imagine how much it would suck to have a whole team spawning at once in a vehicle. If it was stationary it could work kind of like firearms, but dod doesn't have any parachutes and it wouldn't be worth the effort anyways seeing as how there weren't many choppers hovering around then :p .

well anyways, this has been done before err kinda. in dod_dirtydozen (the beta :/) you would "jump" out of a giant box and it would look like you were "parachuting"...then after a certain time i think you were teleported to where the main part of the map was and you floated down or something like that.... I forgot the name of the mapper but he was in that [DD] (dirty dozen) / [OWP] clan thingy majig :o

hey it is posably u just have to messaround with the gravety in that DZ but if u look up there aint going ot be a parachout tho.

the prachute has been done beofor the map that we are making is going to have parachutes.

hey the parachute thing is posable but it wont work for the rest of the game cuz u woul dhave to attach it to the playermodel so after the jump u would see people running around with a open parachute

All you would need is invisible elevators and parachute models that move down at the same time, an effective illusion I would think.

well the invisable elavator is probaly the best sultion for this cuz then u could just attach tyhe parachut to the elevator.
dod_arnham is taken so i might wonna rethink the name. since its a brit attacking place is the map going ot be brit?

The British originally DID Attack Arnhem, however it quickly turned into them defending it. Perhaps call it dod_oosterbeek or something. Oosterbeek was where the main force of the 1st Airborne held.
