Set the Standard for New Weapon Models

We should set the standard for any new weapon models.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Have Marksman/Trigger/Polygon 's Hands and Sleeves

2. Have unique Reload/Draw sounds, designated as

x_reload_clipin
x_reload_clipout
x_reload_slideback
x_draw

for rifles

x_melee

and for MGs/Bar/Bren

x_bipod_up
x_bipod_down

(where 'x' is the name of the weapon)

I'm tired of every weapon having the same Tommy_ reload sounds.

3. Have both default and Shoulder origins

(don't necessarily have to compile Shouldered version in the release, but at least put the $origins in the readme)

4. P_ and W_ models are also needed.

5. German models need the Fallschirmjager texture in them as well.

6. NO CS HANDS, NEVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Well, there arent any more FJ xleeve textures to use, unless you want all your weapons to have the FJ textures.

Ive already got maybe a third of my weapons up to date, and yes, I ahve been using some custom sounds, im as tired of hearing tommy gun sounds as you are.

Fraid to say, I much prefre the default sleeves. They look much better than Marksman's in my opinion.

For the sleeves I prefer the 1.0 default too.
I'm not modeler but I think classic models (like in 3.1) look much more better than the 1.0 "errected" weapons.

(It's only my opinion. I don't say that this "errected" weapons suxx, I just say I don't like them so much :p)

I like this idea. I prefer marksman sleeves and hands as well.

Yeah I think this would be a good thing.

Sounds aren't so easy to get, sadly. :( Only other places I can think of to get good sounds are MOH and maybe a couple of other mods.

3. Have both default and Shoulder origins

(don't necessarily have to compile Shouldered version in the release, but at least put the $origins in the readme)

Now you're getting a bit demanding, we don't all like the shoulder weapons. So why should we have to make somehting we don't like? Besides, 9 times out of 10, someone else goes and re-origins it a few days later, so they can take care of it.

4. P_ and W_ models are also needed.

Would be nice, but it takes a bit more work to convert it. So I don't really worry about it unless the replacement is a lot different from default.

5. German models need the Fallschirmjager texture in them as well.

Indeed.

6. NO CS HANDS, NEVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Well there's a lot of good anims for CS, hence the reason that some people like to convert the hands over to DoD. What I think would be better is to attach the default DoD hands (or the high poly ones) onto the CS hands so that it wouldn't look so fugly. Mebbe I'll do that one of these days.

there are many weapon- specific sounds you can find, espec in Waffle Sound packs, also, the readme could just contain instructions on how to rename the default reload sounds

His sleeves should be redone to match the new player models first. We need someone to do this.

The default hands are fine, but the sleeves aren't.

x_reload_clipin

I like having the reload sounds be just one longer wav. It just feels cleaner. Like, "mp44_reload.wav."

I think the draw sound we have now is fine for each weapon. I mean, you hear your **** jingle...a different weapon wouldn't really change that.

I don't know how different weapons sound when they reload in the real world. Maybe a bit different from one another, but not to any extreme, right?

I like this one...it'd be nice. Don't count on it though.

See above.

5. German models need the Fallschirmjager texture in them as well.

Allies need their own Para sleeve too.

6. NO CS HANDS, NEVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

lol, yeah. :p

too bad, i use CS hands and nobody who uses my models have a problem with them. animating with cs hands is so much easier than with dod hands

i agree with him. Yes the new default hands are spiffy and all but the trigger conscript marksman package is much more attractive and all. Someone be cool and put them on every good highpoly/res model thats out. :) I'll father your children if you do.
