we are in need of one more mapper, the site should be up next week

What exactly is this? You need to give us a more indepth explaination... you are gathering people to make a map for you based on your ideas and what exactly are you doing in terms of helping out build this?

I am also mapping i use to map but the map we are making is requird help it seems u have and aditude problem u thinking im making ppl do thid all im saying is i need help........:mad:

Nothing in Monte's post had a tone of attitude. For people to put time and effort into someone else’s project, they would need more information.

ok sorry im just having a bad day today, well this should clear it up, ok i first wanted to build the map becuse i saw the movie A Bridge Too Far i got intresed in the arnhem battle in that movie,but in this one the most of the battle will be on the ground ware in front of the brdge and the side so it will be a front line map it will have 4 falgs one in the middle on the side and one on each side, so relly it will be exactly like the battle in the arnhem in the Bridge to far movie

I suggest using periods in your sentences, too.

people think that the whole idea is funny because here you have a guy who watches a movie and is like "omg! i want to make a map like that but i don't know how so i'm going to ask other people to do it for me!" Although there is no harm in this, but as monte stated, what is he going to do to help? Shout orders? Playtest? Oooohh big deal, anyone could wake up one day and say: "Hey! I want to make a map, would any of you guys care to make it for me?"

Oh and another thing, perhaps typing things up in word and using spell check first before posting would help clear things up a bit?

Tip for next time Anthony, more info off the bat, and don't make an argument with the first person that responds with a hint of dout in their posts. And if you want to hire like a pro, type like one. Typing like an 8 year old doesn't much impress a mapper like myself.

I really don't see the point in being so ulgy to this poster. If you think he has no chance in finding somebody to help him, why not keep this thaught to yourselfs?

hwat kind of programs did they use to make the intro movies in 3.1

u need entitys, but they took them out. dont worry the vehicles crossing the bridge can act as an intro ;)

DoD v1.1
-Removed cutscene feature in DoD. (ie. dod_camera)

Not sure if trigger_camera works though. Could always link that to a game_player_join (heheh!). Won't be team-specific though.

whoa. just chill out people. anthony: didn't mean any harm. good luck with your mapping efforts. it's just the vets have seen so many people come in here the first time and expect the world to help them when they haven't ever tried to learn anything themselves, hence the skepticism sometimes to new people. all i was suggesting was using periods to make your sentences a little more readable.

why?

because when you are asking for help, it's not merely what you say, but how you say it that convinces people to help you. trust me. i've been around here long enough to know that how you ask makes a huge difference. stupid things like effective use of punctuation and correct spelling, while not needing to be perfect, serve to annoy people less and hence increase the odds you get the help you need. don't know why, just years of experience here have proven that time and again.

so anyway, everyone get back on topic to anythony's endeavor.
