Havent posted any new stuff or WIPs for a while so I thought I'd show you this.
Im getting a head start on converting my Airborne models ready fot "DoD2" whenever that may come out. Decided I didn't want to have the same situation as with my original Airborne where I spent so long making them for 3.1 I had to re-do them for 1.0.
Anyway, at the moment I'm just fleshing out the body and so forth, increasing the polycount and details here and there where needed.
This is a WIP of the new head and torso. The shoulders are a little big and need toning down and the hair style will change - Im just experimenting at te moment.

Heres another one from Milkshape so you can see the faces in the, err, face.
Each player models going to be around 3500-4000 plus kit so they'll probably end up around 4750 - 5000 when their finished and I'll down grade them from there when I know what the real limits are.

wow jed that looks excellent. i dont know how you do so many faces and not get lost! (i know other people do it too) but i find it bloody hard with a low poly model.
Very amazing jed,but I don't think were going to see a dod 2 that soon, but we will see dod source.

Bit late now! LOL, I've only got the legs left to do!
That said its just a case of draw a primitive, select two points and divide line. Keep doing that and move each vertex you create.
I think it helps if you can visualise in 3d in your head.

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. that is so g00d. jed = god = uber skillz tbh.
cant wait for these. the poly count gonna be high and they gonna look so good. i would get stuck on low poly player models. the wireframe must look crazy from the top. oo im getting exited. after all the postpones of release was getting kinda bored tbh.

I was getting nervous, I know that Donald Duck is Banned in parts of scandinavia for being pantless, I was glad to see your model will be accepted with this pants addition.

Thanks for the comments :)
I've still got to make a bump map which will add some of the more subltle details into the mesh.
I dont have the ability to make a normal map with Milkshape and doing the high poly model to make one in milkshape is more effort than its worth. So I'll make a bump map (by hand in photoshop) and then use a plug-in to convert it to a normal map if needed.
And yes, the model is lacking some detail in certain areas at the moment. I will refine it as it progresses and the poly count allows in the same way a sculpture tweaks and refines a clay model.
