looks quite nice. i'm wondering though, in a lot of those screenshots there is rubble on the streets but the buildings havent been smashed up. anyways, i do like it, gj

blame r_speeds, they kept the buildings glued together really well..

I used a custom model which i didnt include in the download so ive made a new zip with the model and a new overview, its downloadable from the same place.

also a sprite, if you wanted to know, xsmoke3 is default xsmoke1 isnt
models/mapmodels/tigertanklove.mdl
sprites/xsmoke1.spr
if you play it on my server it downloads all the correct files,checked the overview, it looks the sane as the other one.
I noticed you included a res file, few pointers here, the res file is to download only what you need, the map and map text are not needed, most of that stuff is default they do not need to download it your res file should look like this
// dod_close.res - created by (4THIDUSA) SSG H.
// www.4thidusa.com Custom Game Source
// .res entries (4):
models/mapmodels/tigertanklove.mdl
sprites/xsmoke1.spr
overviews/dod_close.bmp
overviews/dod_close.txt
everything else is default and not needed, do a check against the vanilla files pulled right from the gcf file. then make your res file

I used resgen to make the .res file... will it work as it is or does it need changing?

yes it will work as is, but the point of the res file is downloading only what they need to play the map, thus making the download wait to play the game a minute or less, instead of 15 or more, like it will be if they have to download everything, and they will have to because your res file says they need all that

its not a bad map, but it needs lots of work. i noticed mis-aligned textures, stretched textures, things that seem misplaced, some textures that dont fit in right, and also you have a poster on the wall that is actually in part of the wall (so it cuts out). once these things are fixed, more detail wouldn't hurt either. just keep at it and the map will look much better :)

No ... It's a standard Half-Life Sprite ... you should be fine without it in your download.
add the path to the map .txt file to the .res file :)
maps/dod_close.txt

I always use ResGen and I've never seen that happen on my server.

Check again, xsmoke3.spr is in the GCF, not xsmoke1.spr

If you are saying check the day of defeat.gcf, then you are correct.
DoD also uses the half-life.gcf as well.
This way you can use standard Half Life content, like the great textures available in halflife.wad :D
