hey guys.okay can ne 1 point me in the direction of any tutorials explaining how to darken up areas useing the env_light and light source entitys?i was tweaking one of my friends maps and tried to use a light_source entity in a tunnel he had made.when i ran the map,the bloody things didnt work:(.i decompiled a map to see how it was done but when i tried it the way it was done on the avalanche map.it didnt work.ne help would be appreaciated.

and on another note,morters.i made a working morter btu i couldnt suss how you got the thing to explode.and when i fired it,the sprite i used stayed on top,in view,instead of disappearing.it only vanished when i fired the morter again.ne help on this as well would be great.

For the sprite with a mortar make sure to tick the entity flag "play once"

hummmm ... I've never heard of an env_light or light_source entity.

He probably meant light_env of which make sure you have sky brushes as the light from a light_env comes only from brushes covered with the 'sky' texture.
Don't use stuff from a decompile, the odds of any of it working are slim.
