Color in Sniper Scopes?????????

Hi,

I have successfully made several custom sniper scopes. I know you have to compile the sprite in "indexed-alpha mode" to get it to work. But the non sniper crosshairs can have color why not the sniper scope?

I know in ww2 they didn't have color scopes. Blah blah. They didn't have nice little colored crosshairs either...We should have an iron sight option..but thats another story.

Is it possible to have color in the scope? I want to have the center bullseye red. I think it would help by having a different color. This would give some contrast to the scope from the surrounding view.

Actually it would be cool to have a sniper scope like the spec crosshair in red. No lines. Just the scope outline as it is but with the red crosshair in the center.

Can this be done?

Thanks

no that have to be coded to work
so the sprite would be ect. additive
insted of indexalpha
and thats only the dev who are able to do that

I dunno, I'm pretty sure it's possible somehow.

It's possible, by using transparent instead of additive, only problem is you get rough edges. I played around with a few ideas i came up with around the time of dod 3.1. Here is a pic of one i made, i never released it though, and i no longer have it, so don't ask...:).

Scope (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/scitzo/custscope2.jpg) Alright so Marzy, would it be possible to have a sniper scope that's red instead of transparent? Like you stuck red cellophane over the lens?

Why dont you just get a red highlighter and color your screen red? that would work well wouldnt it?

Well i'm not sure Cheeto, you could maybe try using different shades of red, instead of gray scale, whilst using the additive flag, although i have no idea what effects it might produce, but still might be worth a look.

it acutally is possible to make an ironsight button, however it will not zoom in when you do it, but you can do it for any gun. i forget the exact commands for it, you would have to look around a bit in the console, however, if you dont care about the look of your scope.. and you just want a uber l33 scope thats just ideal., you can take mine...

sorry about not having any screen shots, but il try to explain it

all you have is the 3 lines and a dot for where you hit, the rest is 100% clear, so you can see the entire screen, helps me out ALOT
