Release: dod_factory

Ok...flawed map...no clue if it's balanced or not...VERY BIG and I've lost the map file so I can't make real changes unless I re-create. My host will lock up in a few moments so hopefully several of you will host.

It is a very interesting map, very atmospheric, you'll get lost unless you use the mini-map and yet there's a realism-factor to it (other than the water...why would I put water in a industrial map??). I'm also 3-sheets to the wind (I downed a nice Austrailian bottle of Chardonney) so I disavow any responsibility to the playability of this map.

The box models save me r_speeds and wpoly...it's an OK map...but it has "issues"...you'll find playing it with only a few people to be slow and not very fun...you really need a full-house to enjoy it. There's also the potential for camping...but you'll get that on maps this big.

I like to say the map is full of great parts that don't exactly make a whole map...I need to look at making hte map smaller one day...but figured it's not doing anything on my hard drive but collecting dust so why not release it.

I was just wandering around the level and trying to get a feel for it and I noticed something that might be a problem. The air shaft/ventalation/whatever "tunnels" are inaccessable. This may have been part of the design but it sticks out as they should work. I tried attacking them with bullets nades and my knife but I can't get the grating off. Please fix this I want to be sneaky. :(

Otherwise this maps looks quite interesting. :)

Actually...the tunnels are meant to be closed...we found in testing the map had a HUGE axis advantage because of them. Axis won 100% of the time. When I lost the map file I had to settle for using a tool called ripent to make the grates almost impossible to break...I would have removed them outright but w/o the map file it would have taken me another 3 weeks of hard work to replicate and I'm burned out...better to release now.

Allright, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't an accident or something.

Hopefully some servers can run this thing so I can test out the gameplay.
