So here is a challenge to all the modelers out there: Romanian Weapons. Here are the real weapon pics if you think you're up to it. They would be pretty cool.

this would be nice for the kar, just add a little bayonet on it. It should look good. Its a Romanian 8mm Mannlicher rifle model 1895. (old date, i know, but we still used em in ww2)

Here is another pic of the Mannlicher. It has a bayonet right next to it in the front.

Yeah, i made a few, but in a suggestion from the MG42 one, i decided to put them all into one. So here they are.

How abou this for an MP40. This is the Romanian 9mm Orita submachine-gun model 1941. I think it would be a good replacement for the MP40.

Instead of the Stg44, how about this Italian made, but Romanian used 9mm Beretta submachine-gun model 1938. Pretty interesting huh?

i think this is a very good idea , the romanians did more fighting than the italians . not mention the romanians were not fighting for facism , they were fighting against bolshevism . they only fought in the eastern front obviously , i think the romanians even fought near stalingrad , or least in southern front of operation barbarossa , but after 1944 or 1943 the romanians joined the allies . in dod2 it would be cool to have maps where the romanians fight the russians and the finnish fight the russians and the italians fight the british , and the hungarians VS the russians .

Syl, lol, i dont really care about the romanian player models as much as i care about the romanian weapons. I tweaked the original player models to make em look as close as i could to the romanian soldiers, but i dont know how to make weapons models. I would be just starting off, and so it would be quite hard. If anyone can help me, that would be great.

PS: Ak, you know your history pretty well. The romanians were very useful in taking the Ukraine, and they even fought in stalingrad. There main goal was to get back the lands they were forced to forfeit to the soviets and the hungarians before they allied themselves with the Germans. That was their number one goal. Their second goal was to fight bolshevism. That is how the Romanian Iron Guard was created. Hitler, Mussolini, and the Romanian Iron Guard were the only Fascist movements to occur within europe that did not involve influence or help from outside the country.

What is this rifle? It looks like post-war. As far as I know, the Romanian Army's main sniper rifle was the Mosin-Nagant 1891/30, with 4x P.E. scope. You can see it here: http://www.worldwar2.ro/foto/?id=171&area=31&category=Frontul%20de%20est&language=en

edit: You forgot about the VZ-24, the most widely used rifle by the Romanian Army during the 2WW.

Yeah, the sniper does look bad ass. Umm, it was used by the romanian army in the later part of WW2, and it wasnt a widely used weapon. But i still like the way it looks, and i think it would look great in the game.

LOL. Yeah, well yes, i am romanian. But i am not the only one that is wanting this, i have quite a few personal friends that are wanting stuff like this, but none of us know how to model.

Sniper rifle doesn't look post war at all. Has 20 round ww1 trench mag, simple optic site, and is either a czech 98/22 contrat rifle, or a turkish mauser. Or maybe Romania did produce a 98 long rifle of their own?

i disagree. I think they look coo. The emblem wasnt always there, infact, most didnt have that. U should go and see the soldiers in action with these. They look weird, but cool. The current helmets in romania are of the same shape.
