Jed, I've complained som time ago that you viewer loads but displays nothing with some files. Don't know why it is happening but ATM 1.1 version refufes to show any models for me (1.0, old 1.25 works ok).

I home you implement some of my suggestions said back then. Scale could be very handy, also auto-center on model (not on model origin) or auto-fit too.
I think all model options (submodel, animation, etc should be placed in one tab).

Of the 15,000+ people who have download HLMV from my site, you two are the only ones who have had this problem.

Actually thats a lie, there was someone else but it turned out that they were opening a T.mdl rather than the actual model.

you mean the 'wont display models with more than 11 characters in name bug" on load?

- Jed Well, it was info about program bug (I suppose). I was meaning that, in some conditions, it behaves wrong. I don't know, maybe it's fault of my computer or configuration. I wasn't saying that you program is completely worthless **** so no need to behave this way, because I'm not going to pay you for anything.

PS. Some thing tells me that you've got under influence of some arrogant egocentric people .

It was meant as a joke but if you read the post of my homepage about the stupid ammount of e-mails I'm getting of late *****ing and whining you might understand why I've been so tetchy of late.

As for being under the influence, no - not really. I just decided that its about time I start pleasing myself and not other people.

BTW, if the bug is the one where double clicking on a MDL file loads HLMV but doesnt load the file - that was a bug that was discovered ages ago and fixed ages ago. You need to re-install HLMV from the file on my site.

It was down to the way XP was structuring shortcuts on file associations. The bug manifested itself in the fact you could load the same file fine from the File->Load menu but double clicking it opened HLVM without loading the file.

I've checked it again, atm I have mdl files associated with your 1.0 viewer. It works.
So I've reinstalled 1.1. It still refused to work ok no matter what I've tried. HLMV's File Associations option seemed to do nothing.
MDL files were opened ok if I dragged and dropped them on HLMV1.1 icon. I have 3 versions of HLMV installed ATM (1.25, J1.0, J1.1). I've renamed 1.1 exe to hlmv11.exe and re-associated MDL files with it. It seems to work ok now, so maybe that was the problem (Windows gets nuts if you are re-associating extension with several different exe's with the same name).

Some posted when 1.1 was released that the file association was borked for a while.

Apparently it was the "open" command in the registry.

Check HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\hlmv.exe\shell\open \command and check that the value is "C:\Program Files\Jed's Half-Life Model Viewer 1.1\hlmv.exe" %1

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Half-Life Model\shell\open\command should also bee the same.

Apparently it was something to do with the %1 not being right that was screwing it.
