Wanted - Recomendation for custom v_models as pics for VGUI

Lo 'all.
Im getting close to done with a new VGUI for 1.2 and I'm trying desperately to sort out those cruddy weapon images in the weapon select menu.
I'm re-rendering them all again at a higher resolution but as we've had loads of great re-skins and tweaks over the past 6 months or so, I might render some of the custom v_models to use in the VGUI.
So really I'm looking for suggestions for custom v_models weapon releases that people have done that I should use. Credit for each models author. will be given in the VGUI readme.
I'm already using Marzy and I's Scoped Enfield but I need to render each weapon again. I can do it from the MDL so no problems there.
So fire off your suggestions for what you feel are the best re-models/re-skins and either attache a pic or a link to the release thread.

Splinter's high Res K43 has got my vote. Quite possibly the best K43 texture made. I think you guys will agree.

*edited* (cuz the first time I think i wrote this I was tired and came over a bit arsey).
The problem with using photos is getting them large enough and getting them all with the same background and lighting. You could google your heart out but I think you'd be extremely lucky to find pictures of every DoD weapon neatly lined up and photographed the same way.
To that end, the point of using custom weapon models as renders is that they can be posed and that the skins/models ARE better than the defaults and fit in nicely between the default models and real photographs. Visually they fit better with the style of the VGUI.

BTW, forgot to mention - any of the orignal model authors reading this who still have versions that havent been tweaked for FOV and without hidden faces - if you would be kind enough to lend me a copy of those models for rendering it would make life easier!

Can't you make a version with re-rendered default models...it doesn't make sense for someone to have a render of Splinter's K43 in their VGUI if they're not using it.

Yeah I could do. Its just a time thing thats all. Just thought custom models look nicer and I could always make a least in the readme of the models and where to get them.

Don't make the font so big to select the weapon class. It just is so annoying. Other than that Im good to go.

well i aint I_r_foist, but i am his bro and im sure he wont mind you using his sten model for rendering, its got a skin by rotzbua.

Hurry up and come out with it already!!! LOL The VGUI that I use wont work on maps that use para maps at all. All I can choose is Random and cancel. Its very very annoying plus im sure that yours is goiing to be way better.

I cant change everything. There are some nasty bugs in the VGUI and a lot of DoDs VGUI is basically CStrikes VGUI hacked on.
Bascially I'll just make it look better and point people to the relevent parts of the files to change themselves if they want to alter ingame etxt, etc.

Well im one of those people who like to know where to go to change the ingame text when you release it. I can stand it know its just that its kinda annoying cuz its so old looking. BTW any time estimates on the release???

Depends on how distracted I get with real life and getting the images ready. The "stylesheet" is pretty sorted so its just the image preparation/rendering and a bit of testing.
So "soon" ;)

When its time for testing it'll probably be "done" - its just a case of checking it works for all resolutions and doesnt cause any big duck-ups.
But yeah, depending on how long the renders take, maybe end of next week.
Would of been sooner but I was out of the country.

LOL yes you did. Still I hope that its "soon" when we get all of the new maps and stuff. I really seriously cant wait. Plus with your VGUI itll only make DoD better.
BTW I think that Im using your VGUI right now for 1.2 (the 1.1 version) and I cant play any of the para maps because I cant select a class. If I choose random Ill spawn but Ill stay that one class for the rest of the map. Do you know about it and how to fix it??

The para bug was in the initial release but I fixed it and put the file on my site.
Unfortunately it seems a lot of people are getting my VGUI from sites other than mine and have the old version with the bugs.
Lesson for the day - the latest versions of any of my stuff is always on my site.

Well I just replaced the broken files and re-uploaded the zip hence no "fix" files.
But the 1.1 VGUI wont work with 1.2 because the buttons for the Bazooka/Panzershrek/PIAT class are missing.

Well it works just you cant choose them as a class. Well I really didnt choose them so I dont care but I got rid of your VGUI so it should be all good for me if I can ever log back onto steam.
EDIT: Like I said itll work but you just dont choose those classes.

Go to a 32 player server. Open the scoreboard. You can't see all the players on the board. That's why.

Depends on if the VGUI will let me change the font size for just the scoreboard. Some fonts are shared between multiply controls and changing one has dire effects on the other.
