Text: Airborne in the Rhine Valley are on orders to capture an Axis communication post. The Com post happens to be built into an old castle. (Total fiction)
Info: 5 flag capture map. 10 Allies 10 Axis spawn points. Oiginal WAD (did borrow 2 HL water textures), Overview, Altered Sky (thanks to Avalanche for the lower 1/2) to give the overcast feel I was going for. My first map, so please let me know if I'm going in a good direction.

Couple things so far,
first you altered Avalanches' sky and didnt mention it or credit it, in your read me, Original wad? maybe on some things but some of those are pictures from somewhere, the water, blue and green looks like half-life standard wad, and I haven't even played the map yet

Thanks for the reply, I suppose in meaning original wad, was meaning the wad file in entirety. about 95% of the images in the wad were created by me, save water and dod function images.
The .txt file has been changed with my credit.
I apologize for not adding the credit for the bottom half of my skybox, that's not like me. I'm not trying to trick anyone here, some things didn't get the way I wanted them to be, being my very first map and all, I was experimenting quite a bit.
I'm working on a new map, that should be a little more advanced, as I have learned allot.

couple more from the allies side going down into the tunnel the floor doesnt match up, the axis tower at the top, the one with the two long slits, coming out to the top area the floor isnt even and you get stuck and have to jump out, the radio room the chairs arent solid no clipping placed on them, the lights try to put the light entity where the bulb is otherwise you get this light reflecting off the wall several feet above the "bulb", if it is ok with you I added a credits.txt file and put this in it

from dod and half-life, the rest are custom by Ben Stier
if that is cool with you I will place it up for download on my site, I am also putting it in my server rotation, I think it could get a little intense full of people, look forward to your next one

Your change looks good, thanks for the info, I'll work on some edits sometime this week and compile another one.
Whats your server? I would love to see my map in action sometime. (doh see your sig :P )

you might want to get rid of the swastika alot of places don't allow them in maps, mostly tournaments i know for a fact BFE doesn't

It looks kinda tacky anyway, I have a hard time taking any map with that in it seriously. Put in a nice detailed model statue, or some other simplistic brush based one.
Looks like a good start, but i think it needs more work on the lights and textures.

Thanks for the replies and info.
I disagree with taking the swastika out of the map, but I will review my usage of it. I know that the nazi's often had stone and just cast iron one's made and would do anything with them, from toothbrush to car ordainments. It was an inherent part of the nazi party.
Yes, my textures need some minor and some major adjustments. I think that those will just have to wait for my second map, as this one is past me now.
I'm really interested in the playability, so if anyone gets on this map with 15 or so people, let me know how it goes! I will log into (4THIDUSA) SSG server and check it out myself tonight.

I dont think the photorealistic textures work well...at all. The scaling on them also looks off.

Make that swastika a model so it can be changed in tournaments (eg release it without it but have it available to download with the map)
