nEMS COMPILER a batch compiler better than using hammer to do it, trust me
http://countermap.counter-strike.net/Nemesis/index.php?p=3

to get the files out of the gcf file format ( the files in with the folder that has your email named folder)
scroll to GCFScape v 1.1.0 beta

mapping tools, popular resources tab on left

need valve hammer editor, the best editor to make maps for dod,cs,ns etc.. all half-life mods
hammer 3.5 beta test, upgrades the .exe file
game data files, need the new dod fgd and the 3.5 beta exe to see the models when you place them in the map
ZHLT 2.5.3 custom build, compiling files better than hammers built in tools old Q tools they are obsolete

how to set up hammer to play nice with steam
