What happened to the map? I know the author dropped out of the dod scene but I'm just curious to know if it was even considered for 1.2. LOL I thought for sure it was going official it was just that polished, now I'm just kinda disappointed that the best objective map (custom or official) was left hanging and was snubbed. Somebody fill me in...

i dunno, its weird. The timng of the release for just unfortunate, too late to be included in 1.1, but still released well before the 1.1 release. And there was just such a long gap, it lost its momentum on servers and stuff. Andy was working on a second version with some changes that the team wanted, i think he had removed the tower objective and the wires objective, so it was just the 2 tanks, and the 2 bridges which made it more simple. But when he left, i dunno, nobody took over from him, and the project sorta died. It was just too long a wait for him i guess. Which is a shame really, because campagne is one of the most original maps out there, great outdoor atmosphere, and so well made...

it was released as a custom map some time ago, if I'm not mistaken. As for offcial status, the team found it to be too confusing gameplaywise and not up to par with the other maps submitted in that regard.

Any mazey hedgerow map = bad bad ...sob. But i must say though Campagn was a very good unique map, it wasn't very ground-breaking in anyway. Then again, what is considered ground-breaking is very subjective, don't you think?

I already have it, thanks anyway.
And I thought Campagne was pretty groundbreaking. Unique objectives(wirecutters, finding tnt then backtracking, destroying a church tower), unique layout, great textures, and airstrikes +1. Honestly the layout wasn't that confusing was it? I mean the map did come with an overview...
Oh well...

Flash! Flash is pretty straight foward.. minus those flags that are off to the sides.. they can catch some people unawares.

I'm still alive but I have lost interest in DoD. I've moved onto other things.
Kleineh is correct in saying Valve found it too confusing. I have no idea what happened...I was completely willing to make changes and was open to ideas. I attempted to contact team members several times to get an idea of what I should change but no one got back to me. After a while I just gave up on it, I guess they aren't interested.
Oh well. I may at some point release the newer version, which has a V-1 launch site as the Allied objectives (instead of the tanks). I just need to get it up to spec for 1.2, I think some scoring things have changed.
