consider this a wip:
Ok, I noticed from some screenies, that the stock xhair has a "halo" over it. Not only that, but from looking at the attached picture you will see that the right arm and bottom leg of the xhair are off by a pixel. This, I decided, was unacceptable.
So, I have created a stock xhair that does not have a halo and is centered. I found, also, that the only way to have a crosshair in dod NOT have a halo is to have that crosshair in the 3rd row of the custom set (in other words, positions 9 through 12). Also, if you start the game with that xhair selected, there's a halo. The way it is done, you have to enter the game, and then select the crosshair. In the case of my new custom set, this hair is in position 11. So I bound a key to "cl_xhair_style 11". This only has to be done once. It stays without the halo for the time you are in the game through map changes and the like.
I cropped a screenie of each one, and blew them up 200x so you can see quite clearly the difference it makes. I was pulling off kar and garand headers from across caen pretty regularly.
I intend to modify the custom set on my site to reflect this change, but I just wanted y'all to see the difference.
