i get all the cool models and sprites i have from http://www.planethalflife.com/editor321/, and after some time i wondered...will all these extra models and sprites i'm adding slow down my fps or the actual performance of dod?

i began to think about this, because dod is accessing those extra files from disk, not from within the game.

Well, it's not the fact that there's extra files there, beucase the game doesn't see them as being extra, just new files. But since most custom models either have bigger skins or higher polycounts, then yeah, that way they will slow down your comp. If they're just defaults with new skins, then not so much. The amount they slow down your performance will be determined by what kind of CPU, video card, RAM, and motherboard you have.
