[Map Model] Kubelwagen Type 82.

Another set of models made for 1.2.

This is a Type 82 German Kubelwagen in 3 different colour schemes - grey, camouflage and desert. Theres also a half-burt out version. I know some don't like the half burnt out look but I just wanted to do something different.

For reasons I don't want to go into you'll find un-damaged and damaged versions in seperate MDLs plus both combined using sub models in others. I said don't ask.

GJ Jed, are you going to do clipping for these models. So many models are ruined by poor clipping, and even whole maps can be ruined by them. Wouldn't want your sweetass ride to be ruined by some newbie mappers.

BTW come back to BFE

Well if you use Hammer 3.5beta you can see the model in the editor so clipping shouldn't be hard.

BTW, I just got an official explantion about origins and clipping and apparently if the model is BELOW the origin it shows up if its inside a brush and casts a shadow when clipped properly.

To this end I need to update the models so I'll upload a new zip tomorrow AM.

Wait...no update please! They're perfect. I'll upload a clip for it tonight when I get home.

omgz this is a great model jed! thanks a lot!

No worries Fuzz as we just discussed on ICQ.

The models in 1.2 use a different filename to these so there is little to no chance of a custom map using these causing the default 1.2 models to get overwritten.

Curse you Jed, I'm going to have to cram one of these into Density now!

I'll set the origins to be something sensible so its compatible with Hammers map units. That way you can use Fuzzdad's clip, you'll just need to place the model entity a certain amount above the ground to position the model. It'll probably be something along the lines of 256 WC units.

I'm thinking I could find a use for one or two of these to pop into dod_belfort for a little more cover as I've needed just a touch more for the beta release.

Nice!
This makes my brush-based exploding kubelwagon in dod_push look like a pile of ****
We've needed a good kubel mdl, they were used extensively throughout the war.

OK. I've updated the file. You can download it from the same URL.

The origin is now above the model for all of the MDLs. Its 16 Hammer units so it shouldmake placement of entities easier.

DoD pays for stuff like maps/models/sounds/etc. As of today...the new models in DoD 1.2 from our beloved Jedster are:

A) Glider model
B) Grave Marker
C) Exploding Fir Tree
D) Kubelwagen "nice"
E) KubelWagen "blown up"
F) Regular Fir Tree
G) Tree stumps

The only two that didn't make this last round was:

A) A fish set he built for me...they kinda sat in the lake (in glider) wagging their tails and when the Germans blow up the bridge a few flopped out of the water and the rest floated belly/side up to the surface. Cool effect but it was using animation cycles that were adding a lot of overhead to the map.
B) Deciduous tree that twisted slowly in the wind and had leaves that occasionally dropped off...once again this was a little too much overhead...great looking though.

My maps tend to be filled with stuff like this so we had to keep a few things under tighter wraps than I wanted too.

You realise if they pay me they wont have any money left so how will they raise the $20 million they need to get HL2 ready by 2005? :(

Here's a minor clip "zoo". You can get the kubelwagen and the glider (you can release it Jed), and the explodable tree up on his webbie either now or "soon". This has the following "things" in it:

A) Clip for "nice" Kubelwagen
B) Clip for "blown" Kubelwagen
C) Entire "explodable tree" sequence
D) Clip for Glider model that's partially crashed (just the fuselage)
E) The blown bridge sequence from Glider
F) A barrel sequence from the new Glider
G) The new Panzer clip from Donner

I also placed the barrel model I put in glider (it's an animated sequence where the barrels fall over when the breakable on the top is busted) in the next zip.

No clue...I got these from CS-CZ. Perhaps the Almighty and Powerful Jed (pay no attention to the man behind the curtain) can chime in. :)

Nice to see some new models!

Young Nasty Man would be proud ;)

I was suprised that a mapper referring to "noob mappers" didn't know about the latest version of Hammer. :p

^ FD, yeah CZ has some nice models to.. err pay attention to. Funny how the map models in CZ were really well done, but Ritual's player models look dead cartoony. Oops going off topic!
