Sorry, I wasn't ignoring anyone.. I dont go into this forum much, I forgot about the new compiler..

I wrote a model transparency tutorial for the valve-erc site, but I don't think its up yet. I'll email the webmaster to see if he can put it up.. it'll have the compiler available for d/l.

i think we also need a new mdldec.exe because when i try to recompile it it says
ERROR stand_pschreck_zoomload.smd doesnt exist
so i think its not decompile right or this could just be my error ???
can someone else try to compile a player model to see what happens

Hmm... I saw that Kratisto had posted this in response to Molotov_Billy's tutorial ...

Kratisto = "Erm... That studiomdl.exe still doesnt allow more than 256 animation sequences,
so its impossible to compile player models (DOD player models have 346
sequences).

Thanks for the tutorial and compiler, Billy. At least it's good for some things, though the biggest part of my own modelling projects [which is admittedly not saying much, compared to some of the other guys here] were player models...

I figured the tutorial was just for skinners setting up the transparency onto the .bmps and that the new compiler would remove the blue marks and add the transparency automatically.

$texrendermode "texturename.bmp" "<rendermode>"

I had to add them to the .qc. All is well. :)
