is there any way for people playing the new steam DoD to customize if they have that stupid GCF file instead of folders?

i tried using GCFscape, but it doesn't compile... it just retrieves files from the GCF.

any help?? T-T

You dont need to compile.

All you do is create the folder structures you need under your "day of defeat/dod" folder. You can use GCFScape as a reference to folder names, etc.

Example, if you want to install new axis player models, make a "day of defeat/dod/models/player/axis-inf" folder and put the files in there.

If a file exists outside of the GCF, Steam uses it instead. Hence, if you wish to return to default at any time, just delete the relevant custom files and it uses the files in the GCF instead.
