so i couldnt get a tangent sprite like in this thread here http://www.dayofdefeat.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31598 to work
so i decided to make a anim (its not a origin only the 'outofway' anim is in that position) where the springfield was ironsighted but when i use it ingame the screen is blank =\
maybe its hardcoded not to let a model show up ? =\
anyone know the solution =\

Could it be because the V_model is moved backwards, towards you, when you zoom? The camera may be moving in front of the scope.

I think Wolf is right -- in the old versions of DOD you could still see the muzzle of the rifle when you were scoped. Maybe they changed it, but I doubt it.

i decided the best way to find out was look at every scoped rifle in the game.
most of them have a anim called outoftheway which im guessing is when your zoomed, but the scoped enfield doesnt have that anim and the fg42s the anim is iron sighted and you dont see it on screen when zoomed . so im kinda stumped =\
i tried to make the anim like 50 feet infront of the screen and even then nothing shows up :-o
i think it might actually be cool if we can figure this out and maybe make custom anims for all scoped weapons so that you look through the actual scope instead of a sprite
