yo update time
here is some renders so my scoped k98a with my high-poly scope
it has 4157 polys !!!! :eek: :eek:
maybe too high-poly for the hl1 engien ...

most decent computers will be able too take, i wouldnt worry. delete the unseen faces on the scope, that will help a little, because thats high poly.
Scope seems very narrow, maybe it should be a little fatter?
Other than that, its real nice, im up for using it if you skin + release

1) get a better link that allows you to link normally
2) those tiny 404x248 pictures are way to small.

Yeah, it is pretty tough to tell anything about it with pictures that small.

Is that 4157 without sleeves....:eek: i should delete all unseen faces, that should bring it down a few hundred poly's.

ok the poly count is now at 3872 polys ....

That's nice as a model... but such poly count is not something practical for DoD.

ok.... now i made a new scope with 12 sides
now the poly count is at 3455
i deleted the fittings
can it used for a model now ??

3872 polys .....is that with sleeves..?
You do say it's a very high poly model, so i would say thats fine myself, take the 3arm Para Bren, thats around the 3500 mark. And i've seen v_models over the 4000 mark posted here, although they don't advertise it, but i've never seen anyone complain. I personally would not go over 4000 polys for a v_model, i think the 3arm Para Bren is the biggest i've released as yet. I always try to keep the polycount as low as i can, by removing unseen faces and using transparent textures where i think ill get away with it. I say go over it again though, and see if you can find any more unseen faces, because i always think the lower the polycount the more peeps get to try and keep it, which has got to be a good thing....:).

update time
got a new host so the pics should work now
but they are still bad .... gonna make some new
Dreadlord2 is uvmapping right now
and Brutal is gonna make the skins
so every thing seems to be in order :D
