i made this Brits - theyre not very realistic but i like them.
they bases on the axis heavy body and have the boots from md ghost´s axis , the sniper is a edited version of mortars sniper and the main2 texture is from Your Employees brits , the heads are from RTCW , some of the gear is from Trigger and Jajahu ,
the Gasmask is from devin Kryss , some Parts are from Spastic Childs axis set and the helmt is from the default brits ,
i hope i forgot nobody
here is a pic :http://dodec.hlgaming.com/images/Brit_skins_by_Nordvolk.jpg

and here the download :
http://www.edgefiles.com/file.x?id=/hlgaming.com/dodec/Brit_skins_by_Nordvolk.zip

maybe i make a similar set for the us inf and para too

Nice effort, I'm glad to see people release new stuff...key word is NEW though.

Listen buddy...we've had so many releases with RTCW textures....if you can't reskin stuff yourself (which is understandable, but you should try to learn) then at least rip from a diffrent game. Any game. Just not RTCW.

Ease up, the RTCW textures are the best out there, easiest to convert, and fit DoD's style the best.

Im with Skullz on this one, I've got nothing against the RTCW skins, infact the axis pack im using now has them but your bloody milking it now.

Dev/russ/employees packs have been recycled and recut a million times now and no offence but they all look the same to me, the only difference is minor things like camo colour and mabye a new insignia, and now your doing it for the brits?

No offence mate but you need to refresh your ideas a bit and stop using the same old resources. Search about a bit and find new parts or base models, theres plenty out there. Trigger make a load of decent head wear, boots, equipment and stuff like that. Im glad that new people are starting to release stuff in MSA but at the moment you all seem to be stuck in the trend of recycling previous axis packs which is getting old very quickly.

Meh, to be honest I don't want my Brits looking like the Black Gaurd.

The general body shape will always fool me into thinking they're axis, so no. But a pretty creative pack though.

I don't like it because they just don't look like brits.
and again i agree with skull...

If you decide to rip things atleast create something on their basics and tweak them to fit your neads... compiling a model with the classics RTCW so german faces and the jerry equipment does not like look brits, they are germans named brit_inf.

Don't try to release for making a release... try to create something unique, maybe realisitc for a change, look at reference pictures, try to model things.

For example (not to sounds too much of a snob) on my upcoming US models i took the RTCW trenchcoat models and first of all i took out all the german equipment and replaced it with an american equipment, i have modeled all the straps and slings to fit the american paratrooper, the faces are being tweaked aswell so they won't look german, the coats were reskined and recolored and also remodeled and now they look like american greatcoats... and with some addition from nixon pack it doesn't look german at all, you can't tell it was once a german.

It takes lots of work and the final product comes out much better, i suggest you will start work more seriously on a release and don't make it just another RTCW hack.

GL.

I like 'em, many people started around here with hackjobs, and just because you are tired of them, doesn't make them any worse than the early work of Devin Kryss or the like.

I would suggest tweaking the jacket a bit so it's distinguishable by its silhouette from the German models, because it can get confusing in-game.

hmm yeah but i wanted them to look this way , cause i like the axis bodymodel most , i did it mainly for my own use like everything i do but i thought why shouldnt i share them with u .
maybe i make a similar set for the us anyway.
i think they look a little like freaks and thats just what i want
and rtcw is the only ww2 game i own and i can rip textures from,
and i really like those rtcw faces .
ps just read triggers post :
if u mixem up with the axis depends on the model u use i think,
if u use a reskin of the default axis maybe u can mixem up , but i u use my SS or Mortars eg. i think u wont mixem up.
But i make them to fit to my SSv2 models and i think theyre the perfect enemy for each other.
i also made fitting weapon models , is anyone interested ?

hmm here is a pic of the weapons models i only replaced the brit sleeve smd with the axis and put a sleeve i made out of the main and a nice hand i edited on it

Im not saying I dont like hack jobbers, hell im still one my self. My point is if you scroll through the past 5 german player model releases you will notice they all look pretty much the same. Its about time people stopped using the same old parts of models and either make their own or search for better ones, its not like theres a lack of parts floating about.

Speaking of your Trenchcoat Airborne Motar, when are they gonna be released? :)

BTW Nord, those RtCW goggles look pretty nice. I'd like to see them on another Axis pack.

True... but if people are looking to have realistic looking models and textures how many variations of the real uniforms can exist ?.. I've seen numerous WW2 games where all the player models look near identical... That's because they are based off their real-life counterparts... So naturally there isn't going to be a whole lot of "original" stuff unless it deviates drastically from the standard that most DoD players want or use...

With that said... I agree with Skullz.. partially... It is nice to see new stuff get released rather than reskins or rehashes on old themes...

Hmmm, The only thing that resembles the Brit is the helmets, most of the equipments are German. But then again the thread is called "Funky Brits",Good imagination though. Heh, another RTCW and compilation of previous DoD stuff, *yawn*

Good Job i guess? *scratches head*

:o While most of your post is constructive enough, this serves only to hurt the guy who made it, intentional or not, and I don't like that attitude from the people around here, especially seeing the same thing posted over and over again in the same thread by everyone who stops by. Try perhaps having a bit of originality in your own criticisms, perhaps?

Im sorry if he took it the wrong way or anyone else did, but all im saying is i agree with most of the stuff that hd been said in this thread. I dont want to flame anyone, like i said i like his imagination with these funky brits, but i think its time to see something new. :)

Nord, Nobody is bashing the quality of work. It was a creative idea, ect. However the execution was flawed. Even using default DoD textures would have been better than using RTCW. Nobody is flaming your work, we're suggesting that a talented guy like yourself take it up a step and use some diffrent textures.

Who knows, if you release something innovative like this pack, with custom or at least DIFFRENT textures, you might have a whole lot of people singing your praises.

Wow.

I thaught every release was appriciated.

Some models that get released I don't like either, but I still think that it's good that people do custom stuff for dod and releases them. So lighten up people.

He is just doing this for the community.

bleh... I love it... I've dropped some pretty unconventional custom stuff on this place in the past, and I don't mind getting flamed for it... It shows that whether you liked it or hated it you took precious time out of yout busy lives to type a comment about something I made... Lol... So just think of it that way... (chicken soup for the modeller/hackjobber's soul) ;)

Just don't tell me I don't have a cute ass!!!

Ok, I'm sorry. But all complaints and no praise don't make him want to release more models.

So what is he uses some old textures, it's still new stuff. New for me anyway. The releases on brit models are slow anyway...
