Bad Luck for Me
Trigger

So a few weeks ago I had a collosal HD crash, and lost 99% of everything I've ever made or was working on for Day of Defeat, or anything else for that matter. Not that it was a considerable ammount of work, I can thank my lazy work ethic for that, but it's still a major blow to me. I also lost hundereds of WWII related pictures and colorplates, which I often used for reference.
The end result of this is that I'm back to square-one regarding actual content, all I've got to show for my past two-and-a-half years of work is experience gained. It also means I have absolutely no will left to work on anything for the time being. This probably means nothing to most of you, since I haven't released anything new for some time, but it does mean that you won't get the American or Italian pack that I was working hard on just a few weeks ago, at least not for some time. Perhaps DoD 1.2 will provide the spark of inspiration I need to start working again, but until that happens, you can find me sitting on the sidelines.

Oh i'm sorry to hear that Trigger, my thoughts are with you. It's happened to me a few times, and it's a horrible feeling, but i bounced back in the end, and i'm sure you will.
Chin up mate.

As i already told you in private, im very sorry for you mate ;-(
I hope you will get back in shape asap :-)
I don't know what about other people but when stuff i make gets deleted/earsed, im not talking about everything... but if i work in ms3d and it gets closed for some annoying reason, when i get back the work will look twice as nicer in the end.
hope it's goes the same for you.

I hear ya man.. Been there myself... Ya know.. I still have a zip file somewhere with a ton of colorplates.. I'll bet they are the same ones you had... When I get home from work I'll upload them and post a link here for ya... In fact... It might be cool if some of this community pulled together to help you (one of the pivotal members) piece your collection back together again... Got a shopping list? :)

Ouch, thats the worst...
I was really looking forward to your Italian pack, but if you look on a positive perspective: people will quit playing on this engine soon so you dont have to work on that many models any more for HL. ;)

Thanks for the kind words guys, it gives me that warm fuzzy feeling one would normally associate with copious ammounts of liquor.
Anyway, I'm starting to get back into things a little bit, I'm going to start modeling something today, probably a new character or something. I've never been too good at making heads, so I think I'll use Jed's head as refrence to start my own again. I'm begining to look at this as a chance for a fresh start, maybe I'll be able to do something meaningful with my work instead of just half-assing it all the time. So, yeah, sorry for all the e-drama, I normally despise it, but I figured I might as well let everybody know why I'm not doing anything rather than tell people one by one over and over again.
Yesterday I asked ez for his registration code to MilkShape, but being the richeous individual that he is, he opted to buy me a copy instead. Thanks again for that ez.

WHoo Hoo... I remembered today...
GET IT WHILE IT'S HOT !!! ... I don't remember where or when I downloaded these pics, but there's about 165 different ones of various WW2 soldiers, uniforms, and vehicles... The pack was called "colorplates" so I think it might be the same one's you had before Trigger... Anyway... good stuff for reference pics...

hey, iam sorry to hear that, happend to me some month ago, too.
Why dont you use a data recovery tool ? I got nearly 90% of the stuff back i lost.
I formated the wrong partition while re-installing windows , it was completly empty.. 4 gigs of models and maps and ww2 related stuff..
with the data recovery tool i got nearly evertything back.
Hey Effexx, thats some good pics you got there. Those gave me a ton of ideas for models. Too bad I wont have any time to act on them.
