I hope this is not a dead horse I am trying to resurrect..

I have looked at all the material in this forum regarding obtaing an overview of a map using sv_cheats 1 and dev_overview 1.

But most say to start the game in LAN which steam does not do, or start it with the -dev in the command line, which to my knowledge steam has no command line.

How for heavens sake can I get dev_overview to work...:) using steam.

In the launch options window place:

-console -dev

Start DoD. At the console then:

developer 2
map <mapname>

After the map starts go in as either team (this get's rid of the top and bottom bars), pull out your knife (no crosshair) and pull down your pants...no...ermmm...pull down the console and type:

dev_overview 1

That should do it

You made me realize to right click on the game and choose properties 'load options'. I had forgot that that was even an option.
