The original creators of these have mysteriously disappeared into the past so I cannot credit them properly.

There's 2 different sets of models here. These models don't have heads so the helmet flying off feature won't work properly. Use this null helmet in your day of defeat\dod\models directory so you don't get dupilcate helmets flying off

Set 1
Best Allied models ever from the book according to Pvt.Crowe

Aye the top ones were made by E&C (What ever happened to them? They were good).

Love the old school models. You gonna convert the old brit pack too :D lol

Whoops, kiff you got some models on the first pack flat shaded...
it happens when you import a model part in milkshape and move it, i hate that too...

you need to import, save everything, then open it again and work.

Check the faces there... you will see it clearly.

Ahh yeah. CRAP! :)

The light_body.smd and mg_body don't have the smoothing. Fixing as we speak, the zip file should have the updated ones very soon.

Thankyou Mortar :D

I tried to update the old default Beta 2.X models to work in 1.1 but the file sizes were too small and I got consistency errors. How'd you get around that?

I have no idea! I didn't encounter anything like that.

In fact there was no real problems at all (except that smoothing thing). The bones of 3.1 are virtually indentical to 1.1 all i had to do was import the 3.1 model and everything was already assigned. The only major difference is with the arm bones. I had to modify the model slightly so it would properly fit onto the 1.1 bones.

Second set looks like the 3rd ID set me and Higgins made way back in the olden days.

Correction, second set are the models we made... though with some new additions I don't recall, like the scrub on the sniper's helmet.

That's some of my best skinning right there man, best I ever did. That was a project and a half, no doubt. It's pretty cool seing them back in DoD, I still have the originals sitting in a backup folder on my HD.

Nice work Kiff.

There's more conversions coming Friday for those interested. The links on the first page will remain up until then. SO GET THEM WHILE THEY LAST, if you're interested.

Just a stupid question, do these have higher fps in game as they are oldmodels?

Probably not. The FPS problems in Dod go far beyond polygons.

Here's two more.
