Could some one animate the sling on Malarkey’s Garand (http://www.dayofdefeat.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29881)

I started Garand sling anims a while ago, but Milky just isn't good enough for slings, once I get 3DSM I'll make them tho. No promises on how soon that'll be tho... :p

Theres no bones for the sling to edit on that garand, when i enhanced it i did not include any, not unless someone else has added them However Sushi requested them to be added in another thread, so i did, but he never took the Job on..:(. Here is the post and the garand i edited for him to animate, it may be of some use to someone wishing to give it ago.

Right, I might start the anims soon, the bones was one of the major hurdles, the next is getting smooth movements...

How about this, the default enhanced Garand including sling and bones assigned, all ready to decompile and start animating...:)

Otherwise it would just be easier just to add bones to the other one. And I could do that my self if so required, I would just need someone to animate it.

Just make sure you put the animated sling on the enhanced bayo garand too :D

If/when I finish the anims, I'll put them on that Garand of yours Grain, and probably one or two others. ;) All you'd really have to assign would be the strap I think.
Oh and engineer, I didn't know you were a DoDer. :p

As far as i am aware it's mine and the dev teams enhanced garand that you made edits to, so changing the meshes and FOV edits will not of changed the bones, so these bones should fit on the default, or the enhanced version, or any garand that uses the same bones as the default.

The fact that there are no sling bones on that Garand. I did indeed use your enhanced default Garand, but there are no bones.

When i originally released the enhanced garand there where no sling bones, but since then i added some new bones for the sling to the existing bones for Sushi because he requested it. So what i'm trying to say is these bones will fit on any garand that uses the default bones, i'm sorry if my original post confused you in some way.

So If I wanted these bones on the Garand I edited how I would I do that. It would seem to me that I would need to delete the old skeleton and import new one then reattach all of the vertices. Am I wrong?

I think all you need do, is download the garand with the sling bones and sling, then import this into milkshape. Then delete everything including textures, except for the bones and the sling object and texture, and then import your edited one, but triangles only. And if all goes well, all should be assigned.
