Custom Player Models

How many servers have you guys seen allowing you to play with custom player models? Not custom textures, actual models. I have not been able to jump on any server I tried. Out of 320+ I tried about 30.

wtf? lol

I've been using/making custom player models since b3.0 and have never been refused from a server cos of custom stuff lol That's really weird.

Try the following servers:

213.208.119.137:27045
80.168.35.36:27045
195.20.108.65:27020

if you have problems playing on any of these I'd suggest reinstalling dod/steam as i play there servers all the time with all custom models (save for map ones) and have had no problems.

That is really strange lol

This looks like a hitbox problem to me, what models are you using.?.

If the hitboxes differ from that of the original models, you get that error, like a bone bieng in the wrong place, or a model that is bigger will cause it to happen, and i'm sure theres more things that can cause this, that i don't know of.

I tossed in some custom animations, but the bones didn't match up correctly so...I just deleted the hand bones on the 3 animations... and hoped for the best.

It was a test, so now I have to figure out the hand thing and also there is a pause before the animation starts. Need to edit that out...somehow.

Here's the model:

That error occurs when the server notices a p_model or player model that is bigger than allowed (a measure adopted back in the beta CS days to eliminate spiked models)

I think we cleared up the problem Mr. Tardy.

Actually it's also determined by file sizes. I imported the old Beta 1.0 and Beta 2.0 players onto the new skeletons with the new anims but the simpler meshes and smaller textures were much much smaller than the defaults and I got a bunch of errors. PIU told me that it has a range from a specified file size for player models to be in before it writes them off as cheat models.
