Mosin Nagant V2 Improved with Poly skin

03-08-2004, 11:48 AM
Alright so here's the second version of the Mosin Nagant, I added a bit of FOV because my cat was tired of the flaming bricks hurled through my window. I also changed up the shoot animation and fixed a problem with the bolt on the sniper version.

But the biggest deal this time is 2 new skins. One is a redo of it by Splinter (I moved the groove into the proper spot, thought) and the other is a skin of it by Polygon (minus a scope skin, he never did one). So, on with the show, mates.

Really hot and i love those player models too, why don't you guys release em :-(

anyway about the scope, it looks too bright from the inside, looks like a lens is a bit missing too but the general looks is awesome :-)

Splinter's skin gets my vote although both of them are great, poly is a real cannon.

The gun looks good, I'd say you nailed the FOV on it. Looks like one of Polygons earlier textures, not particularly impressive, particularly the metal, and the wood. I prefer Splinters texture.

I'd suggest you boost the poly's on the little round cylinder thingie on the back (technical term) since it's so close to the screen the 8 slices you used to make it are quite obvious. Overall though, top notch.

eh, i like polys textures, not hes best a agree, but im more fond of redwood on my nagant :)

Looking better, but there is definetly room for improve.

Increase the polys on the gun which is closest to the screen. And the skins still looks rough. Do what trigger said :p

its nice but it has a few errors. the main 3 which get to me are not being able to see the bayonet, having a few 'robotic' type animations such as the draw anim and when putting a new round in, there is no hole in the model or skin so it looks liek it goes into the wood (sorry for the lack of technical terms)

other than those though, i do like it :)

where can i get the tank model?

03-19-2004, 06:17 PM
It was made ages ago by Lovemeister i think... They have only add transparencies to the tracks...

contact me via PM and ill give you the tanks if you want them... but with no transparencies..

I think they look better without them

:D Nice Nagant, im downloading it X)

BTW, the sounds that play with the reload animations are out of sync. Might wanna fix them.

EDIT: Here:

$sequence "reload_1" "reload_1" fps 30 {
{ event 5004 10 "weapons/boltback.wav" }
{ event 5004 72 "weapons/stripper.wav" }
{ event 5004 84 "weapons/boltforward.wav" }
$sequence "draw" "draw" fps 65 { event 5004 1 "weapons/rifleselect.wav" }
$sequence "reload_2" "reload_2" fps 30 {
{ event 5004 10 "weapons/boltback.wav" }
{ event 5004 72 "weapons/stripper.wav" }
{ event 5004 84 "weapons/boltforward.wav" }

Nice models all together, but somehow the huge scope doesn't sit well with me.
