I don't suppose it ever occured to you that maybe thats an OLD screenshot?

04-26-2003, 04:03 PM
yea but...why would it be in the manual, and even if it was old...why would they have first made it withough the bayonet? its not like were talking about the garand here

04-26-2003, 04:04 PM
Yea it might be old or lazy to add it in lol

04-26-2003, 04:08 PM

This is jus an idea but in the manual it says something about the bayonet often being removed and discarded. Mabye you have to draw your rifle first and then press a button to fix bayonets. Just an idea lol

it makes me mad that it everywhere it says dod is made by valve (and that valve made counterstrike but thats a different topic) and makes no mention of the dod team. if i were the dod team id be insulted. which makes me wonder if they are a part of valve now..

I hope they will include a Dev section, to honor the real makers of dod :P

Worries me the bayonet picture I've seen is the little spike bayonet more commonly used on the Sten Gun. Where's the 12 inch sword bayonet, what's the point of a British bayonet if you can't give the Germans a taste of Cold British Steel.

"They don't like it up 'em, Captain Mainwaring!"

Bugger the 12inch, what about the 17 incher with which the Aussies kept Rommel out of Tobruk with :D

I think their will be a bayonet because in the weapon sextion of the manual the lee enfield has a bayonet on it, maybe it will be attachabe and detachable?

well I like the idea of that sword bayonet, although I'm not particulary fond of brit guns (I don't knoiw why, they just all don't 'flow' to me) I do like the Enfield, and I might even buy one in the future. Can anyone tell me how much one would be?

P.s. sorry for the outburst there guys, I just think we should have that back, that was a good place to get ref pics and stuff like that.

Rossi, at my local military surplus store, I just bought a WWI BSA Enfield for 150$, All matching, Excellent condition, but was refinished with that British Black Paint that the Brits used, instead of reblueing they just repainted it.

Prices will vary as you will not find a new selection and current list price.

I have a 1944 LE which I paid $45 Cdn for. Wood was in great shape, a little reconditioning to the metal and it looks, well not mint but very well preserved. Still fires true. Beautiful weapon.

Should also point out that any "will be/won't be" in conversation on the baynet is pretty pointless, Billy just said it would be in. Is that not enough for ya? ;)

Hmm I might purchase an Enfield for hunting out west, I'm pretty sure they .303 is pretty close to the 30-06 right? Thats much cheaper than my Garand, $495 (probably already said that:cool: but I don't care, if I can get the grass cutting job, then I can get enough by the end of the year:D ) Thanks for the help guys , and I sure hope it's a sword, and if it isn't, I know it will be.... one way or another...
