G'day. After releasing 4 versions of adrenalin, ive moved onto an all new project, called dod_diversion. So i guess im posting the first glimse of the map, still very much in its early stages. After learning a lot from adrenalin, i hope this map becomes just as popular, if not more.

Its a simple flag capture map, with 6 flags. The layout is important for me, and i want this map to be able to have clans wars. There are two main routes, with 3 flags each way, with connecting alleyways and a main building in the middle.

The major brushwork is pretty much complete, and im now moving through and adding detail, models, shrubs, rubble and cover etc etc.

Nice man, Good brush work.
Though I sometimes get bored with a map that uses Jagd textures. (No offense Kleinluka).

This map looks to be promising, I wonder how the gameplay would play out.

Good Job.

Looks pretty good.

The only bad thing(s) as far as I can see, are the rocky area - which just looks a bit blocky and unnatural (yeah I know its HL);
and the pavement looks a bit high up from the ground in one of the shots too.

Thats all.

If you could try and get your own texture set, it would really give the map a more individualistic style, which would really set it apart.

yeah, im still very amateurish when it comes to creating textures, but im working on tonign my photoshop skills. I do want to retexture adrenalin as well. and i agree, the jagd.wad textures are quickly becoming the kami_platinum.wad of dod 1.0

i want to grab the textures from dod_escape, because that is more of the feel that i want, but alas, that wad file is steamafied. If anybody has access to that wad file, please post it for me, much appreciated.

Adrenalin4 is a lot of fun, we just added it to our server a couple weeks ago and its pretty well liked.

Looking forward to this one. :)

In this rocky area you should use less vertical walls. Anyway, looks good overall.

I like how it contruction wise. Unfortuneately, I dont get a vibe from it just yet... I dont know, I havent seen enough.

This one looks too clean and unscathed for my taste in DoD maps, but then again we've only seen a few S.S.'s I personally like maps that feel more like DoD_Thunder, something broken up and lots of craters and rubble hide and ambush from.

Any plans for some different type of gameplay? Id like to see a map that doesnt have 100 percent balanced boring 5 point CtF stalemates. Put in advancing spawns, or make a para map, something. Make it so one team cant take back the flags, like Hobofire, or put in some unique item like a working 88.

Btw, big fan of Adrenaline. :)

Keep up the good work mate.

Thats definitely MUCH better!

The lighting still needs tweaking - in pic 23, are you using a light entity in the arch area? Also, in pic 23, the textures on the arch are at an odd angle (but getting textures aligned in arches is no easy job, as I can attest).

Also, in pic 25, the arches on the bricked building (behing the tree) look out of place. Arches like that aren't often used as entrances on bricked buildings. Maybe you should make that building into a town Council Office (thats Mayors office or whatever Americans call them) or something similar (made from sandstone preferably :)).

The lighting does need a little alteration, it's too washed out...it needs a bit more contrast, and if you are using point lighting make sure it has a source or else it looks brutal.

escape textures look good on escape, but they look horrible on diversion dw :P
