Good Brit maps tend to be large and open- which is something of a challenge to many mappers due to the limitations of HL.

My favourites are the aforementioned Stuka and Tobruk.
I too would like a Sword/etc map (it would be flatter than the Utah beaches - possibly too much for HL...)

My next project, if your interested (upon completion of dod_burn) is dod_dunkirk. The map wouldn't feature any visible beach area, it would take place in an area near the beach, where British and French forces fought the Germans, as their (GB and FR) comrades evacuated (these soldiers were eventually captured as POWs in real life). I suppose it could be either a Domination or Assualt style map (what objectives could be destroyed? Presumably something like howitzers/tanks?)

It was previewed last June (nothings happened since??)

There is apparently (well, from searching on here) an unrelated map called dod_juno8, but from what is said, its a stinker. And I've never heard or seen of it really.

There was also a dod_arnhem ages ago, but that too was a pants map (from playing it). Also, it was from the pre-Brits days, so no Brits are in it.

old thread, but dod_5points is a really cool brit/axis map but its kinda laggy unless you got a damn fast server.

You can run up and down, from spawn to spawn, with out having to go out side for more then 10 seconds. All you need is the Bren Gun. I've ran up and down the left building group atleast 60 times in the Kettle..... and never got killed.

dod_temple is also with brits... ;)

juno8 is a very old map from dod beta 1 times...
there are also 2 arnhem maps... the first arnhem map was a really cool custom map for dod beta 1 ... but never finished from the mapper... the second and newer arnhem was released to beta 3.1 times, but wasn´t so good!

i hope to see in the near future any good market garden map for dod... hopefully with dod2 :p

Unless map present some historical scenario (like tobruk) you won't see too much brit maps. Typically if someone is considering it for it's map everybody starts to convince him to Americans. And they are right, sadly. Brits arsenal is too tight and represents low firepower.
Team seems to not realize fully what problems this gives. If you play on server with typical class restrictions it can end with really shocking representation. I play sometime on one server with such thing. On Jagd Brits have 1 Bren (!) few rifles and the rest have to get Stens. Axis have 2x1 MGs, 2xFGs, some Kars but also few K43s. Don't know how Brits are supposed to defend this way.
In such case Team says - we don't give a s., that's dumb admins fault, Admins don't give a s. too - they've f. it. So poor Brits are hated and avoided, all work with introducing them to DoD ends in trash.

the american weapons are worse , the garand is unaccurate , the greasegun just sucks , the carbine is a waste of time , the only good american weapons in dod are the bar and .30cal . the brits have better weapons: the enfield which has twice the ammo load than the kar98 , the bren which has more ammo than the bar , the scoped enfield which is the best sniper rifle in the game .

i liked the first versions of dod_edge and dod_enemy01 but no the mapper had to replace the brits with the yanks, its really sad , dod_edge and dod_enemy01 used to be great maps until they ruined it . it would be really nice if in the next version of any map if they release 2 versions of it , 1 with tha brits and 1 with tha yanks , that way servers can decide which team they want on a map .

um, brits are just clones of the top fav classes of either side.

kar clone, tommy/mp40 clone, BAR/FG42 clone (to an extent, rof and clip size are different.), and sniper rifle clone. wow, so many choices.

there is no difference between the coding (minus clip size) between the rifles, sniper.

they used to have a good brit map. but then then i discovered what waldo had changed. and i died a little bit on the inside.
