Looks nice. I tried it myself but it's difficult to fix the rifles (or all long weapons) but SMGs are pretty simple.

fov stand for frield of view, in 1.1 they made the fronts of all the v_ modls really big to compensate for the distortion or something with the engine, anyways fov means the fronts are bigger, but in game they look more correctly porportioned compared to a normal sized model.

View the rifle from the side and top in separate windows. Select a small sliver of the rifle and use the scale option to shrink that particular segment then move on to the next segment and keep working your way to words the tip of the barrel. Then go back repeat except move the segments back towards the butt one segment at a time. Then make small adjustments if necessary. It helps to merge in the W model which is already non FOV so you can get proportions correct.

I love that Garand! It doesn't look like a giant tree limb like the 1.1 model, but doesnt look like a toothpick. I think it's perfect. I also like the Kar alot to. Just put a custom skin on that and it's ready for release.

Could you please do all the bolt rifles? I think they look awesome.

COD has made me appreciate non FOV models much more for some reason.

How about the Bayonet version of the default enhanced Garand? I like the bayonet, it makes the gun seem more dangerous for some reason...

But i can't skin. I could take a 98k reskin (i think bruta made some) and use them for this model. But i'm not sure which skin i should take.

Make suggestions and post links to reskins please.

you should try to de-fov the middle as well.

its got a big bulge there that doesnt look right

otherwise, great job on the bayo and barrel end

BTW, Kraut Killer, just select the barrel and vertices on the front end of that chunk of wood in front of the rear sights and scale it all down a bit on all axes. Maybe on just X and Y.

Ok, i scaled it down again, but it doesn't look so well in 1st person. The Hand is a bit off, even though i already moved it a bit to the right.

i think the middle still needs to be de-fov'd further, good job so far tho.

like someone else said earlier, compare it with the p/w models to get the right proportions.

Good work, but IMO it would of been even better if you would of used the enhanced kar 98 though, still keep it up..:).

Grain if you would like a less tedious way of going about this, then get lightwave. All you would do in lightwave is select the points you wish to edit, so in this case that might be two thirds of the rifle. then click on taper1, then right hand click in the top view and set up a line in the direction you wish to taper, then left hand click in the front view, centre of your points. Then move the mouse a bit and watch the points taper from one end to the other, save file import into milkshape, thats it. You could also setup a P_model in a background layer to work to. If you do end up getting it though, dont include round things like knobs etc in the taper, do these seperate using the size tool.

But Kraut-Killer is working on one, lets see how his turns out, as i don't really want to do something Kraut-Killer is already doing, i don't feel that would be right. Besides i'm working very hard at the min on a bag of goodies for you all.
