i think that u all know the dod_hill, and that it have made in
an new version.
but im not satisfied with the new version, so i have decompiled
dod_hill from 1.2 and have lade new textures on it, and new entitys. and i have some small probs. i dont know how to make a
kanon ?
and i dont know how to make roundtime

Decompiling is bad, so unless you have permission from the original mapper, never release the map.

Oh, and I dont think the tank entity (which is used to make brush-based MGs, cannons etc.) works in DoD anymore. It was disabled around 2.0 or something.

Hill has been remade like a bazillion times and they were all bad compared to the original (except maybe the one nc17 made). I think I will just give up on clicking threads that have the word "hill" in them from now on :D
If the original hill was released as a dod 1.0 map it would not be anywhere near as good as it was when it was first released
It would not fit in with the new gameplay of dod that is why i made the changes that i did in hill_classic, i tryed to keep it as close to the original as possible but i had to make changes to make it fit in with the 1.0 gameplay

Thats because the gameplay of DOD is smaller than maps like zafod and hill. DOD is too close in CQC now for my liking.

i never played dod_hill and i feel the shame. If u mean by kanon a player controller turret they suck and have long gone ^_^ too bad, long range knife kills were fun.
U can use the 88flak model which has an animation of firing, u could time sound and shaking to it and that'll be cool, and then mortar explosions to make it seem like the cannon is auctualy firing....

The original author of Hill adbandon ship from DoD and from what I hear, hasn't been heard from since. There was an awful remake called Hill2 or something like that. The r_speeds were through the roof and it lagged like all hell.
Plus, the "new" authors basically just did the same thing, they decompiled it and released it as theirs. I don't even draw maps, but even I know you NEVER decompile someone elses work. It is sort of like tracing over the Mona Lisa, changing the eye color to blue, and taking credit for the work.
IMHO, that map is nothing but a kindegarten sniper fest, plus the coding that drives the big guns is loooooong gone from DoD, so they don't work anyway. So in essence, it is a death match with NO spawn camping protection.
Jeez!! You would think I didn't like that map.:p
