I think the original MP28 was a German gun, that a captured one was copied by the British and called the Lanchester in 1940, the trouble was it was to expensive for mass production. So in 1941 the design department of the Royal Small Arms Factory produced a prototype of a new gun based on the Lanchester design and some capture German MP40. This new sub-machine gun was called the Sten Mk1, this was soon replaced by a Mk2 and then later by the Mk3, and by 1944 the Mk5. The Lanchester ended up mostly in the Royal Navy, and served until the mid-1960s.

I'm not 100% sure but i think Ripa may of had some part in the model, thats in the screen shot you posted.

I found a picture of the weapon though, that might help you with your skin. http://www.rememuseum.org.uk/arms/submachg/armsmg2.htm#182 look for Weapon No 187.

It's an MP28, made by Ripa...

He made it British, mainly because it would require some anim conversion if it where used for the MP40...

I hacked a lanchester from that mp28 some time ago, not many differences between the two, but I liked it better anyway. Maybe I'll release it one of these days.
