when in reality they drobs strait down
and the empty belt comes out to the right

MG 34 and MG 42
basicly uses the same system and so i mean all 2
can that be corected

in the game they jump out to the right of the gun

BUT in real life they just fall strait down
and the empty ammo belt commes out to the right

so why not in the game ??

The bullets are supposed to fly out to the right *Im pretty sure* becuase the casing is getting ejected out... ask for the belt thing im not too sure maybe because its too much work?

All weapons eject the shells to the right, unless it's a left handed version. In which case it would eject the shells to the left. They don't eject downward. There is no gun that ejects downward.

I'm pretty sure that the MG42 does have this downward ejection system. At least i've heard something like that before.

As bizarre and hard to read as his post is, he is correct - I am fairly sure. I know for sure that the .30 caliber US machine gun has a bottom-ejection system.

Most belt fed weapons have two ejection ports, one for the spent belt, and the other for the brass. On the MG42, I believe the spent casings eject out the right, not underneath, but on the 1919 and 1917 and M2 machine guns, the brass ejects out the bottom.

This could be fixed by replacing the shell_mg42.mdl with a null model so you just wont see it at all. after all you wont see it if it shoots out the bottom now would you. as for the other MG's I am afraid there is no fix because the they share the shell_large.mdl with the many weapons that do eject the brass out the side.

The belt coming out the side could be fix with custom animations.

Well i couldn't find any information about where the bren ejects the shells from, so i'll take your word for it. Ya learn something new every day.

i know i am trained on it

Yes lasse p is correct

The MG42 and the MG34 eject empty shell cases from UNDERNEATH the weapon - not to the right.

I have used both weapons many times. The Bren also sejects from underneath .....

To Fix : You can't !

Re-Origin the attachment for the shell ejects .... but .....

I have tried this in the past but the DoD Team have hard coded the shells to allways flick out to the right .... so even if you place the shells under the weapon, they still flick out to the right.......

:(

Well then, proven wrong once again. This just seems to defy all logic and reason. Wouldn't the shells bounce back up into your face if prone with it? And how come the m-60 (based on the mg-42) doesn't do this? Not debating here, just asking.

shells don't bounce like that, you are only like 6 inches off the ground. The M60 doesnt do it cuz it wasnt designed to, it has two ejection ports on the right side of the weapon, one for brass and one for the belt, same with the M249.

I wonder why is that. If you reposition the origin of the model, how does the MG model know where the actually model of the shells are and places them in a certain spot.

all belt fed machineguns, afaik, have the empty belt come otu to the right and the shells come out from the bottom.

Answer :

You can asign the bullet ejection to ANY bone on the weapon.

I usually add it to the nearest bone to the ejection port on the weapon, then adjust it for best in game look.

As posted before, If I place the shells under the model, they still flick out to the right......

Shame really.

Meet the M240B

Shells eject down, roll towards arm, arm gets burnt, gunner gets pissed.

Meet the M60E4

Shells thrown to right, neat pile.

The Model 37 Ithaca both loads and ejects from a port on the bottom.
